Snack Series: Choza De Margarita

Snacks! Everyone loves a good snack. Finding a good vegan snack in Walt Disney World is pretty easy, we’ve got popcorn and pretzels everywhere! But what if you don’t want some popcorn? We’ve got you covered.

Guacamole and Lime Cucumber Margarita

When in Disney’s Epcot you should head over to the Mexico pavilion in World Showcase for a great new option. A new margarita bar opened this winter called Choza de Margarita located just outside the pavilion and across from La Cantina. There are lots of margaritas to choose from whether on the rocks or frozen. But the real gem here is the Guacamole with Fried Flour Chicharrones.

The guacamole here is fresh like the guacamole at La Cava del Tequila, which is a huge plus. On top of the guacamole are pumpkin seeds and mango. The fried flour chicharrones are light and crunchy making for easy scooping of the guac. On top of the chicharrones is a drizzle of hot sauce.

Guacamole and Fried Flour “Chicharrones”

This was a great light snack for walking around World Showcase. My only issue with the dish was the chicharrones that were under the guacamole got soggy and made for harder scooping. The amount of guacamole you get is great, you end up having lots left over for your last few scoops because of cautiously dipping. The “chicharrones” were a nice touch, but in all honesty I would prefer normal tortilla chips.

Also to note: we were recently informed by a reader that the “chicharrones” are fried with the beef empanadas, so they are from a shared fryer.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
