Hello! I just wanted to let you and others know that, as of 4/17/2023, The Brown Derby is no longer serving the tomato risotto as their vegan option and have replaced it with a Shepherd’s Pie that is lentil based.
Thank you!
Howdy! We’re heading out there for Christmas and we’re wondering where (besides Starbucks, lord help me those SB lines!) we can get coffee with soy milk or maybe even oat milk.
PizzeRizzo spicy Italian “sausage” sub is fantastic!
Are at Mama Melrose and before going I wasn’t optimistic that I would have a great meal. However upon arrival, I told the server I was vegan and she talked me through the entire menu and told me what could and couldn’t be changed to accommodate me, and also got me an off menu dessert as the regular lemon sorbet sounded super dull! Great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone eating out with non-vegans as my parents were able to eat what they wanted and I was happy too!
Tune In Lounge made me a vegan peanut butter milkshake Sunday. It was DELICIOUS!
The Sci-Fi Dine In theater has an off menu beyond burger! Waitresses are super accommodating, just mention you’re vegan and they’ll tell you everything available for you on the menu
No tofu scramble at Hollywood and Vine…. kind of bummed
Bummer! Thank you for the update.
We had the most amazing dinner at Hollywood & Vine today. I was not optimistic after we checked in and the cast member said “We don’t have many vegan options, so you still want to eat here?” Then in came Chef Jenny. She made us this delicious polenta topped with sautéed kale, tomatoes, white beans, and mushroom with a veggie stock. She brought us a ton of vegetables, poblano rice, and roasted potatoes with peppers and onions. She got the kids plain elbow pasta with marinara because that’s what they wanted. She then brought us brownies and ice cream for dessert. She even made the kids’ ice cream into Mickey with enjoy life cookies.
That’s great!! So happy to hear they are so accommodating!
That sounds awesome! We’re headed to Disney tomorrow. Just checking – Do you have to make a reservation there?
Great site! SO helpful!
The ABC Commissary also has a vegan option for the Shrimp Teriyaki Bowl! It’s not listed on the menu posted outside the restaurant, but it’s part of the dinner menu on the screens above the cash registers, listed just underneath the Shrimp Teriyaki Bowl as a specifically vegan alternative. I was there yesterday and had it!
That’s great!! Well have to go try it. Is it tofu?
No tofu, just an assortment of roasted veggies. Shiitake mushrooms, broccoli, onion, red peppers, and probably something else I’m forgetting. A little simple, but pretty good!
The abc Commissary now offers a vegan burger as part of their advertised menu. It’s really good. Grilled peppers and onion with tomato and lettuce. Vegan mayo, ketchup and siracha mustard.
I really can’t recommend this enough.
Yes! We just got it today. It really was great. Thanks for reminding me to update this page with that. A Cast Member said they’re making a lot of menu changes there over the next month so I’m excited to see what else might get added.
I just ate lunch at Mama Melrose’s, and the chef said the Mama’s Italian Pasta can be made vegan without the cheese. Just something else to add to the list!
Hi! thank you for this Vegan list. I went with the 7-layer chili bowl and it was amazing!! However, I used the pre-order app and when i went to pick it up the manager was waiting on me with the order. He said he noticed i took the cheese and sour cream so he assumed I did not want dairy so he went ahead and changed the rice too.
He said that the rice is made with butter unless you request vegan at the cashier as a special diet FYI. 🙂
Thanks for letting us know! We’ll update that.
Took Jaklore’s advice and went to Tune In and Chill bar! (Tucked away just to the left of prime time café in a green building) the chef was brought out to us and she was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful to our requests! Made our milkshake by hand to avoid cross contamination with dairy. We got that and a vegan brownie desert. Also ordered a kids salad to eat with the Gardein “chick’n” patties I brought along. Highly recommend this option here!
We were able to order vegan tofutti shakes and vegan brownie from Tune in And chill bar next to Prime Time Cafe. Bar tender had to ask the chef if he could squeeze us in.
They do not have a separate blender but chef said they wash it out. we ended snagging two seats and chilling for a little bit while getting our sweet tooth on.
The ABC Commissary no longer serves the Gardenburger/Malibu burger.
I just had one in October. They’re no longer on the regular menu, but still on the allergy menu.
I’m at the ABC Commissary right now and the Mediterranean Salad dressing is not vegan, there is cheese mixed into the dressing.
Bummer, is it premixed?
Yes it is
That’s my comment re ’50s Prime Time on December 26. And I did indeed go to MM for lunch last week. And was not disappointed. My husband and I both had delicious spaghetti marinara. The bread is vegan (and served with olive oil, also vegan), and I had chocolate Tofutti for dessert. My husband had some other chocolate dessert (he’s vegetarian, so he branched out a little there). A really good meal, and I’m happy to report that MM’s staff and procedures were much better organized than I’ve ever experienced them. There’s even more waiting room up front. A great experience, and sorry we couldn’t repeat it, which we tried to do on a walk-up, but they were booked.
Meanwhile, across the street from MM is PizzeRizzo, where we foolishly tried to get dinner one evening. They close at 4 pm! No one could figure that one out. PR supposedly has vegan pizza, but we weren’t able to try it or verify that it’s true. BTW, Catalina Eddie’s–the quick-service pizza place near the Tower of Terror–has nothing vegan to offer, unless you’d like a piece of undressed lettuce. That was literally the only vegan food there.
