It has been a few years since we ate pizza at Hollywood Studios. We used to enjoy frequenting Pizza Planet until it was closed and refurbished. When it reopened it became PizzeRizzo, based off of Rizzo from The Muppets. The food stayed the same, but the restaurant itself went through a huge change.

PizzeRizzo quickly became open seasonally and had weird hours. Every time we went to finally try it, they were closed. We finally caught them open this summer and were able to give it a try. PizzeRizzo is a quick service restaurant located in Muppet Courtyard next to Mama Melrose.

When we went the restaurant had just opened for the day. It was only going to be open for lunch that day as well. I went up to a cast member to order and asked about getting a vegan pizza. She knew exactly what I was asking for and they even had a button on the register for it. When you get pizza here you can get both a vegan cheese pizza or a vegetable one. They come with a side which is typically a caesar salad (premixed), but she said I would get a plain salad or we can get chips.
I asked about getting a kids pizza and she said they can’t do that one vegan. I’m not sure how that would work for people on the dining plan, but hopefully that would change.

After I ordered I was given a pager and told it would be a few minutes. It ended up being around 15-20 minutes before we finally got our food. I ordered two vegetable pizzas and one plain cheese for the kids.

The vegetable pizza here has always been one of my favorites (that didn’t change from Pizza Planet). The veggies are very well seasoned and cooked. The mix of vegetables are red peppers, green peppers, mushroom, and onion. The cheese however has changed since Pizza Planet as it appeared to be Daiya Cutting Board Shreds instead of Follow Your Heart.

The kids cheese pizza was also great. Now when I say great, these pizzas aren’t great but for whatever reason I love them. They are very elementary school pizza like and fill me with nostalgia and I just generally enjoy them.

The salads were fine. It was just a cup of lettuce topped with a few grape tomatoes and a side of balsamic dressing.

The actual restaurant here is super cute. There is Muppet art everywhere. We were hoping to sit in the banquet room to let the kids play (there are hula hoops and other fun things) but it was blocked off while we were there. I am hoping this restaurant is going to be open more with Galaxy’s Edge opening soon. If you’re looking for a nice air conditioned spot to hangout and eat some lunch, head to PizzeRizzo!

Review from July 2019.
This is so frustrating because I stepped into this place the other day and looked at the menu and there is no indication that they can do vegan pizza.
Lots of places in Disney require asking, which is incredibly frustrating.
