Our favorite non-faux meat options in Walt Disney World

We know that not every vegan or vegetarian loves faux meat, and unfortunately most of the vegan options in the parks now are just that. So we decided to compile a list of our favorite options in Walt Disney World that are just vegetable/tofu based and don’t contain faux meat!

Magic Kingdom

Veggie Rice Bowl from Pecos Bill

Veggie Rice Bowl from Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn & Cafe – Quick Service
This bowl has been a staple at Magic Kingdom for a few years now. The dish features rice, black beans, and roasted squash. When at Pecos Bill’s you can head to the toppings bar and load up your bowl. There you will find various salsas, lettuce, tomato, onions, jalapeños, and more. This bowl used to require modification with the rice, however it is now vegan as is. [Review from before the rice change here]

Lighthouse Sandwich from Columbia Harbour House

Lighthouse Sandwich from Columbia Harbour House – Quick Service
This sandwich is a newly vegan, previously only vegetarian, option in Magic Kingdom. The sandwich is on a multigrain bread and filled with a vegan broccoli slaw and hummus. This is a nice light and refreshing option for those hot days. They also have a vegan chili here which is strictly bean based. [Lighthouse Sandwich review]

All the things at Skipper Canteen – Table Service
Skipper Canteen in Adventureland has a ton of vegetable heavy vegan options. For appetizers you can get the Shiriki Noodle Salad which is a cold and flavorful noodle dish or the Fall’s Family Falafel which features crispy falafel and hummus. For an entree you can go with the Curried Crew Strew which has rice, curried vegetables, tofu, and a vegan bread, or you can go with the spicy option, Perkins Thai Noodles, which have lots of heat and flavor, vegetables, noodles, and tofu. [Skipper Canteen reviews here]

Epcot

Vegetarian Platter from Tangierine Cafe

Vegetarian Platter from Tangierine Cafe – Quick Service
This has been a favorite for many years. Tangierine Cafe is located in the Morocco Pavilion in World Showcase. The platter has olives, lentil salad, tabbouleh, hummus, couscous, falafel (shared fryer), and pita bread. The pita is occasionally not vegan so be sure to double check when ordering. [Vegetarian Platter review here]

Vegetable Platter from Spice Road Table

Mediterranean Vegetable Platter from Spice Road Table – Table Service
Similar to the one above, this option has several snack size portions to make a meal. The platter has babaganoush, grape leaves, hummus fries (shared fryer), couscous, and pita bread. Out of the two platters in Morocco, this is our favorite. [Spice Road Table vlog here]

Tofu Masala Curry from Rose & Crown

Tofu Masala Curry from Rose & Crown – Table Service
This option isn’t actually on the menu, but can be requested. It is the vegan version of the chicken masala curry, but instead they do tofu or just vegetables if you avoid tofu. This is packed with flavor and one of my favorites on a chilly January day. [Tofu Masala Curry review here]

Vegetable Tacos and Enchiladas from La Hacienda de San Angel – Table Service
Both of these dishes can be modified to be vegan by removing the dairy. Both are basically the same thing in two different applications and both are delicious! If you like Mexican food and spices, head here. [La Hacienda de San Angel review here]

Hollywood Studios

Polenta Cake, Mushroom, and Herb Cauliflower from Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano

Polenta Cake, Mushroom, and Herb Cauliflower from Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano – Table Service
This is a unique option in the parks because it not only has lots of vegetables, but it also has a cashew cheese! There are plenty of great options here at Mama Melrose’s (I love getting their pizza made vegan) but if you want a one of a kind dish, be sure to try this one. [Full Mama Melrose review here]

Two Suns Hummus from Backlot Express

Two Suns Hummus from Backlot Express – Quick Service
Now this one technically has faux meat on it, however it is the smallest amount and I’m sure you can request it without it. This meal comes with both a classic hummus and roasted red pepper hummus. On top of the classic hummus are crispy chickpeas (shared fryer) and on top of the red pepper hummus is Impossible crumbles.

Animal Kingdom

Roasted Vegetable Bowl from Harambe Market

Roasted Vegetable Bowl from Harambe Market – Quick Service
Harambe Market is an outdoor quick service restaurant in the Africa section of this park. Here you can find a bowl with curry style roasted vegetables, rice, and a salad. This is a hearty and flavorful option that I highly recommend. [Harambe Market review (minus salad for whatever reason)]

Crispy Tofu Bowl from Satu’li Canteen

Crispy Tofu Bowl from Satu’li Canteen – Quick Service
This is one the most talked about vegan options out there. Here you get to kind of build your own bowl by picking the base and sauce, however only some of those are vegan. For bases the vegan options are the rice and black beans, potato hash, and hearty salad. The only vegan sauce is the charred green onion vinaigrette. [Satu’li Canteen bowl review here]

The whole buffet at Tusker House – Table Service
This buffet is super vegan friendly and has been for a long time. Here you can find potato and pea samosas, a bunch of salad options, roasted vegetables, and more. This is a character buffet too! [Why we love Tusker House]

Disney Springs

Veggie Bowl from Splitsville

Spicy Veggie Bowl without Spicy Kimchee Sauce from Splitsville – Table Service
When we tried this the first time we weren’t expecting much, but both Corey and I actually preferred this dish over the Impossible Burger they have here. You do have to modify this here by removing the Kimchee Sauce. The vegetables were fresh and flavorful. It was a dish I would absolutely get again, but probably not go out of my way for. [Review of the bowl and Impossible Burger]

Taco Cone from 4 Rivers Cantina

Veganized Taco Cone from 4 Rivers Cantina Food Truck – Quick Service
This food truck is permanently at Disney Springs and you can get a veganized taco cone here! You can choose your fillings here for your taco cone with a base of rice and beans. They have lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo, and more.

BYO Pizzas from Blaze Pizza

Build Your Own from Blaze Pizza – Quick Service
We love going here because you can load up your toppings and a low price for it. They have tons of veggies to choose from and vegan cheese if you are into it. Their gluten free crust here is also vegan.

Resorts

Potjie Inspired Entree from Sanaa

Potjie Inspired Entree from Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Table Service
This dish has a few variations available which allow you to customize the meal to your liking. It comes with two of the following Aloo Masala, Chickpea Wat, Lentil Dhal, or Cilantro-Coconut Vegetables and Basmati rice. This is a great spot for an out of park plant heavy meal. [Full Sanaa review]

Miso Glazed Tofu from Grand Floridian Cafe

Miso Glazed Tofu from the Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa – Table Service
This is another off menu swap from salmon to tofu. This dish is super flavorful and one of my favorite out of park options. It is a super simple dish but is a great option. They also have a vegan pasta option now that we haven’t tried yet. [Miso Glazed Tofu review here]

Vegan Buffalo Cauliflower from Ale & Compass

Buffalo Cauliflower from Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort – Table Service and Lounge
This is not vegan as is on the menu, but they can swap it to be vegan. It is considered an appetizer but can also be a great snack when at the lounge. To be vegan they swap the buffalo sauce and ranch dip to be vegan. [Buffalo Cauliflower review]

Vegan Black Bean Caribbean Taco from Spyglass Grill

Vegan Black Bean Caribbean Taco from Spyglass Grill at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – Quick Service
This option is available for both lunch and dinner and it a great bean taco. There is no faux anything in this guy and it’s just an all around simple and flavorful quick option. [Black Bean Taco review]

Avocado Toast from The Wave

Avocado Toast from The Wave at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Table Service
This is a new option, and as much as I was joking about ordering avocado toast for breakfast, it was actually really good. The avocado toast is on several small slices of bread and has a delicious onion jam hiding under it.

Rainbow Roll from Trader Sam’s

Rainbow Roll from Trader Sam’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – Bar
This is more of a snack than a meal, but it’s still a great option. You can get this at both the Tiki Terrace and Grog’s Grotto. It is a nice light option for while you’re spending time at the bar. They can also make the lettuce wraps vegan here with tofu. [Review of the sushi and lettuce wraps here]

Now this isn’t ALL of the vegan options without faux meat, these are just the ones we recommend the most. But we’d like to know, which is your favorite faux meat free vegan option in the parks?

Author: Melissa Kramer

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
