This week we have a guest post from Julie. She tells us about her recent trip, October 2016, to Disney World full of new foods for her!
A little while ago, I had the privilege of writing a guest post about my trip to Walt Disney World in July that was sadly cut quite short due to a family emergency. Before we even left the resort, however, my mom and I were already talking about reprising our trip as soon as we possibly could. We’d always wanted to go during October for the Food & Wine Festival and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and so we made the reservations immediately. This was, by far, one of my most wonderful trips to the magical place on earth!
The first thing we did upon arriving on day 1 was get some lunch at Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom. I ordered the chili with the oyster crackers on the side for my non-vegan mom as the crackers are not vegan. The chili is good (and oddly enough has olives in it), but if you’re not much of a snacker and wish to stay full, I would get two. They’re a little small for someone like me with a high metabolism who doesn’t snack much.
2016 has come to an end, we want to thank you all for following along with us for another year! As this year comes to an end, it means it’s time for Vegan Disney World’s favorite dishes of 2016. So let’s take a quick trip into our favorite things we ate this year.

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the ever changing Disney Springs, you may have noticed that the new Town Center has opened. The Town Center is located in the center of Disney Springs, near where Pleasure Island used to be. The Disney Springs Town Center features tons of shopping and new food options. One of the new options is the quick fire pizza chain Blaze Pizza.
Blaze Pizza is a quick service option that features build your own pizzas, signature pizzas and salads. Blaze Pizza is a chain, so you may have one near you and it is exactly the same. When you enter the restaurant you join the line and wait to order. Continue reading →
This week we have a guest post from Dan Bodenstein. Dan Bodenstein lives in South Florida, and has been a vegan since 2009 when he published his second children’s picture book, Steven the Vegan. He frequents the Disney parks annually, and is always on the lookout for interesting vegan options in, and out of the resort area.
It seems like things are always changing at the Walt Disney World resort. Those changes are also reflected in the variety of foods that are offered. This past Memorial Day weekend I travelled to Orlando to meet with my friend and illustrator to work on character development for our next book. We’ve known each other since grade school, and when we get together it’s like we are kids again. What better place to act like a kid than Walt Disney World. We visited two of the Disney parks, as well as Disney Springs on this trip. Thursday night we ventured out to see the new areas recently opened at Disney Springs.Continue reading →
