Splitsville Luxury Lanes

It’s taken some time but we have finally checked out Splitsville in Disney Springs. We had originally went to Disney Springs this day to go to House of Blues for an Impossible Burger (as we always do), but saw a sign at the check in desk about them being out of them. Side note, House of Blues has been out of them off and on since late April due to the Impossible shortage that is currently happening.

Instead of trekking all the way across Disney Springs to find something else with my parents we decided to ask if Splitsville had any Impossible Burgers since they have them on their menu. We were told yes and decided to seat ourselves outside. They have seating inside as well which you can book with an Advanced Dining Reservation or walk up depending on time.

Our server came out and we mentioned being vegan and our sons peanut allergy. This is a perfect example of asking the right questions when ordering because of what ended up happening. He said he would check about peanut for our son and then we asked what is vegan. He said the Vegetable Sushi Roll was vegan, so then we asked if the Impossible Burger was since on the menu it says “vegan option available”, he said yes that could be vegan as well. Then we asked if the Spicy Veggie Bowl was vegan or if there was fish sauce in it. He said “you can add fish to it but it doesn’t come with it”, to which I responded again about fish sauce. He said he would ask and left.

When he returned he said that the Spicy Kimchee Tataki Sauce contains fish sauce and that we could get it with the normal tataki sauce. For our son there was no vegan and peanut free option on the menu for him. We ended up ordering one Impossible Burger without the sauce or cheese, one Spicy Veggie Bowl with normal sauce, and then some avocado and sushi rice for our son.

Our food took awhile to arrive, given that it wasn’t very busy we assume they messed up one of our dishes. When it came out the Veggie Bowl looked pretty boring and the Impossible Burger looked fine.

Veggie Bowl

The Veggie Bowl, to our surprise, was awesome. It was a super refreshing and healthy meal. The tataki sauce was kind of like a sweet soy sauce (reminded us of Trader Joe’s Soyaki sauce if you’ve had it). The vegetables were cooked well and was on top of rice.

Veggie Bowl

As a whole we both really liked this dish as it wasn’t overly heavy, I would definitely get this again. It was loaded with kale, broccoli, peppers, onion, and topped with avocado.

Impossible Burger

The Impossible Burger was good. It wasn’t amazing, it wasn’t the worst we’ve had. The burger itself was cooked well. I added some mustard to it to give it some sauce.

Impossible Burger

I don’t love crinkle fries, so I would probably ask for a different side if I got this again. That is just personal fry preference though!

I am glad we finally went here. They have always had items on their menu that require some modification to be vegan. I think this is a good reminder to everyone to be sure you are asking questions and asking the right questions. If we hadn’t asked about fish sauce we would have received a non vegan (and non vegetarian) dish. While this isn’t somewhere I would immediately suggest to eat at again with friends or family, I would happily return if someone wanted to go.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
