Right before Disney World closed we went to Rose & Crown Pub to see if we could get Vegan Fish & Chips from the bar instead of the restaurant. We were able to do so then, so when the parks reopened we were unsure if this was something we could still do. We recently went to Epcot and decided to see how Rose & Crown Pub has adapted with their COVID measures, and if we can still get the vegan fish here.

When you enter the pub now there is a marked line outside of the restaurant. A cast member will direct you to a number to go to place your order. They had four registers to go to, which was a nice change from the elbow to elbow bar that this used to be. They do also have a few tables inside that you can go to if available, but there are also tables and chairs outside all around the pavilion.

When I asked if they still had the vegan fish & chips the bartender knew exactly what I was asking for and said absolutely. We ordered those and some beverages. He told us it would be 5-10 minutes until they were ready, and if we didn’t get a table inside to just wait by the exit door and he’d bring them out to us.
Within that time frame our meals arrived to the bar. Since we snagged a rare table inside, I hopped up to the bar to get my bag of food. Previously the food was in a small basket, but now it is packaged in a to go box. We had two orders of the fish & chips, and a side of just chips. We got two little containers of vegan tartar sauce (one for each order), and then in a small bag we got two packets of malt vinegar, and four packets of ketchup.

The vegan fish are Gardein Fishless Fillets. These were the crispiest ones we’ve ever gotten here. We also had four pieces of the fillets this time, when we first got it we only got two. The four is a much better comparison to the non-vegan fish serving size. In the past we were told these were cooked in a shared fryer, if this is something that you avoid be sure to ask.
They make the tartar sauce in house and it is so good. It adds the right amount of tangy and creamy to the fillets.

The chips at Rose & Crown are the absolute best. They are thick, they are crunchy, and they are always salted well. I am thankful they gave us the vinegar packets as that is my favorite on their chips.

If you’re wanting to try the vegan fish & chips at Rose & Crown this is the way to do it. The actual restaurant has some fantastic vegan options. But if you want a quick service style meal, and price, then head to the bar for some Vegan Fish & Chips!
