A few days before Disney World closed due to Covid-19 we spent the day in Epcot. We were trying to figure out lunch and decided we’d try getting some food from the Rose & Crown Pub. If you’ve been with us for a while you know we love how incredibly vegan friendly the Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room is in Epcot. [If not, check out our reviews of their vegan Bangers and Mash and Tofu Curry Masala.]

We’ve always been a sucker for their vegan Fish and Chips, but are always defeated by the size of the plate in the restaurant. We decided to give ordering them at the pub a try instead as the portion is much smaller and it doesn’t require a reservation.

I entered the pub and found a spot at the bar to speak with a bartender. I asked her if I could get two orders of the vegan Fish and Chips and she said “absolutely!” and placed my order. No questions asked about it, she knew exactly what I wanted. She did let me know that it would be a few extra minutes to make them, which was fine with me. The receipt even said “Vegan Fish” when I paid, thank you UK pavilion for making our lives so easy!

After about 10 minutes I saw a server coming around with a tray of food and I spotted my orders of vegan Fish and Chips. And just like that, she handed them to me and I was on my way! There is seating in the pub occasionally, but it’s LOUD in there, and there is some great seating just outside the restaurant on the water.

This order is nearly half the price as the one inside the restaurant ($12 when we got it). It comes with just two pieces of gardein fishless fillets, vegan tartar sauce, ketchup, and chips. I popped over to the quick service next to Rose & Crown and grabbed some vinegar for the chips too.

The fishless fillets were nice and crispy, and the tartar sauce was great as always. I think this is the only way I will get these anymore because the portion was perfect for me.

If you’re wanting to try the gardein fishless fillets, this is the way to! Also, if you have Tables in Wonderland, you can use it at the pub too!

Review from March 2020.

We went last year at a busy time and were incredibly happy to find we could order these inside at the bar! And, of course, the chips are always crispy and delicious. A must stop every trip.
I think you’ve sold me on doing it this way instead of in the restaurant next time. Do you know if they take a quick servicing dining credit?
