Mobile Order for Vegans

The time has finally come and Disney’s Mobile Ordering is something we can do as vegans! For a long time any modifications required speaking with a cast member, but times have changed!

What is Mobile Ordering you ask? Mobile Ordering can be done on your My Disney Experience App to save you the time of standing in line to order then waiting to get your food. Now you can order on the app at any time, then when you arrive to the restaurant (or are on the way and very close by) you can hit “I am here” and they will begin preparing your order. You pay via the app, so all you do is order, walk up to the mobile order pick up at each location then get your food when your name or order number is called. It’s seriously that easy.

I’ve done mobile order two times now, so I’m basically a pro. Both times I have done it in Magic Kingdom. The first time I did it while standing in the long line of Casey’s Corner at the beginning of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. I ordered while waiting to speak to a cast member, hit “I am here” then left the line (which I was several people back in) to go to the mobile order pick up. A few minutes later my order was ready. I would have probably just been ordering at this point.

With all that being said, I ordered my Plant-based Southwest Burger, modified my side to be black beans and got an additional side of tortilla chips. Within 5 minutes I had my food. I posted my experience on our Instagram stories. You can see the 45 second video of it below.

Okay so who offers mobile ordering for vegans? Let’s break it down by park. I’d like to note when I say “nothing vegan” it means they have nothing but french fries and drinks. Last updated December 2018.

So is Mobile Ordering worth it? Yes, yes, 1000x yes. The other week I was in Hollywood Studios with friends visiting. I waited in the long line for Fairfax Fare so I could speak with a coordinator and ensure that the Rice Bowl was still vegan and there was no changes to the salsas (which someone had mentioned to us so we needed to confirm). While I waited, then waited for my food, my friend came up with his mobile order (after finding the 6 of us a table) and got his food while I continued to wait another 5 or more minutes for my entree. Another thing to note, the Vegan Rice Bowl is not on the menu at the restaurant but is on the app. The same thing goes for the plain version of the Plant-based Dog at Casey’s Corner.

Mobile Ordering is SO CONVENIENT. I am so happy that we can finally order vegan options on here. If you’re not using Mobile Order where you can, you’re missing out.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
