It has finally happened, Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs is trying out a full vegan-as-is sandwich. Earl of Sandwich reached out to us to come try this sandwich on them and we were so excited to head over there and finally eat something.

Earl of Sandwich is located at Disney Springs in the Marketplace area near the Christmas store. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating here, which is great for those looking to dine outside. This restaurant boasts about their hot sandwiches, so we were excited to give one a try.

The vegan option that is being tested is the Vegan Cannonballs! Sandwich. There is a non vegan version of this sandwich, so it’s fun they made a vegan version of another on menu option. The sandwich features Gardein Meatballs and Follow Your Heart vegan cheese.

The sandwich was hot and packed full of the vegan meatballs. We were a little nervous with how stiff and flat the bottom of the sandwich was at first, but it wasn’t hard so that was a pleasant surprise.

The cheese was gooey despite looking pretty unmelted and the marinara sauce was a pretty simple tomato sauce. The bread was the perfect softness and held up really well with the filling, as I know meatball subs can do a damper on bread.

We went into this with pretty moderate expectations and ended up loving it. I am usually not a fan of the Gardein meatballs because of all the fennel in them, but I only had one bite that was overly fennel-y. There was also probably 6-8 meatballs on the sandwich, so I really appreciate that they didn’t skimp on that.

This is a great option for vegans who are traveling with non vegans who want to eat here, or someone looking for a solid filling warm sandwich. We will absolutely get this again, it was the perfect thing to warm us up on a chilly Florida winters day.
Thank you to Earl of Sandwich for inviting us to try this. As always our opinions are our own. If you are local or are planning on visiting soon PLEASE go try this tasty sandwich so it makes its way onto the permanent menu!
