It’s officially 2020! Which means it’s time for our yearly round up of our favorite (and least favorite) vegan options in Walt Disney World we ate this year! Now these are based on what we actually ate this year, so there’s plenty of others we love that just didn’t make the list. These are in no particular order, so let’s get it started!
Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread from Docking Bay 7
If you follow us on Instagram then you know we love this dish. I think we ate it almost every week for the first two months of Galaxy’s Edge being open. This dish features Impossible meat based kefta balls, and creamy hummus and pita bread. [Full review of Galaxy’s Edge food here]
Impossible Burger from House of Blues
This is another one we went to a lot. Like, possibly too often. This burger is vegan as is on the menu and can be a single or double patty. It comes with vegan cheese and a vegan mayo based secret sauce. It’s like a Big Mac without that extra bread and also better because it’s not McDonalds. [Full review of Impossible Burger here]
All the vegan things from Skipper Canteen
We slept on Skipper Canteen for the last few years. We didn’t love it when it opened but finally gave it another shot this year and all of the vegan options here slam. Our absolute favorite entree here is the Perkins Thai Noodles. The Curried Vegetable Crew Stew is another great option with less heat. For appetizers they have the Fall’s Family Falafel and the Shiriki Noodle Salad, both of which are great. [Skipper Canteen reviews here]
Escalivada Catalana from Jaleo
It’s a good thing Marci and Andrew went to give Jaleo a second chance after their first trip because they found a favorite for the year! While they enjoyed their whole meal here, the standout was the Escalivada Catalana. This eggplant and pepper dish is a great option for those looking to just enjoy some vegetables as they were intended. [Full review of Jaleo here]
Fish and Chips and Bangers and Mash from Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room
Wow that was a lot of ands. Rose & Crown has been killing it for the last year and a half with vegan options, both on and off the menu. Our favorite things to get here are the vegan version of the Fish and Chips, which features gardein fishless fillets and a house made tarter sauce, and the vegan version of the Bangers and Mash which has Beyond Sausage as the highlight. Neither of these options are listed on the menu, so just let your server know. [Rose & Crown reviews here]
Roasted Vegetable Bowl from Harambe Market
This is a great vegetable only option in the parks. So many options now are faux meat, so this one is a sweet relief in that world. The bowl is full of flavor and packs a little heat. This restaurant has some funny hours so if you plan on going go for lunch. [Full review of the Roasted Vegetable Bowl]
Avocado Toast and Garden “Egg” Sandwich from The Wave
As much as I joked about not spending $12 on avocado toast, this was one of my favorite things I ate for breakfast this year. The toast was on delicious wave bread with an onion jam. The Sandwich is a close second as it was also on that wave bread and had Just Egg, Field Roast sausage and avocado. [Full review of the Avocado Toast and Sandwich here]
Pan-Fried Quinoa Cakes from Whispering Canyon
We had the old version of these a few years ago and didn’t love these. We decided to give the new one a try this year and it did not disappoint. This was a great entree, which is only offered for dinner. The quinoa is a great crispy patty and packs a ton of flavor. I will pick this over the skillet for sure. [Full review of Quinoa Cakes here]
Avocado Toast and Impossible Burger from Grand Floridian Cafe
This made Marci’s list for her favorites this year. The avocado toast, again another one we thought would ever make the list, but we are Millennials, so I guess it makes sense. This toast had a unique tomato butter one it too which took it to the next level. The Impossible Burger here was cooked great and has a vegan gouda cheese and avocado aioli. Farm Fresh Pizza from Primo Piatto
This was one of Bridget’s top picks for the year. The newly opened Primo Piatto has a great vegan pizza featuring vegan cheese, carrot top pesto, caramelized onions, eggplant, and more. It’s an easy hop on the skyliner to go check this place out. [Full review of Farm Fresh Pizza here]
Lavender Donuts from California Grill
Both Marci and Bridget agreed on this dessert over at California Grill. These donuts are a tasty option and they both just wish the donuts were a bit bigger. If you’re looking for a great dessert with a fireworks view hear here. [Full review of California Grill here]
Weird soggy Jackfruit Wrap from Sunshine Seasons
This is one of those items that needs to be made fresh and not a pre-made sit on a shelf item like it is. The jackfruit was pretty flavor lacking and due to sitting on a shelf it was very soggy. Definitely a skip. [Sunshine Seasons review]
Undercooked pasta in corn water from Be Our Guest
Be Our Guest is not a cheap place to eat. So when you go you have pretty high expectations. Marci and Bridget both received the same corn tortellini dish during two separate dining experiences. The vegan option for dinner here is just severely lacking. [Full Be Our Guest dinner review]
Build your own lettuce wraps in complete darkness at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre
This one is a bummer because we love Sci-Fi (shout out to Chef Albert here!). But this entree just isn’t good. It has components to be good, but it’s just hard to eat. If they gave me this exact same thing but as a stir fry, it would probably be on our favorites list. But instead the weird corn starchy fried tofu and spicy sauce live separately. Crunchy but also mushy Sloppy Joe from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
This is just terrible. It has no real flavor, the sloppy joe filling is a weird mix of being over cooked and under. It’s just bad, don’t do it. Go somewhere else. [Full Sloppy Joe review]
There were plenty more we could have added to both lists (hello delicious plant based burger from Ale & Compass), but then this list would just end up being way too long. Disney has come a long way with vegan options since we started this blog in 2014 and it’s been amazing to see the growth. Here’s to the new better options of 2020!

I hated the dinner at California Grill as everything was so heavily salted. Disappointing after being excited for it, the waiter also had no clue that a lot of wines contain animal products.
Another for the slaw dog at Casey’s and fish and chips from Rose and Crown. I would also add the totchos from Woody’s toy box and the vegan dinner at California grill- so many fabulous options!
Loved the beyond sausages with corn slaw from Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom!
