Raglan Road’s Vegan Onion Rings

Over the last few weeks we’ve been trying to experience some new options at Disney Springs. In the past we would pretty much discount Disney Springs and just grab Blaze Pizza and stop by Erin McKenna’s Bakery. We have now found that there are tons of great vegan options in Disney Springs. One of our recent finds was over at Raglan Road.

Raglan Road is an Irish table service restaurant located near The Landing in Disney Springs. We had heard from some of our gluten free friends that they could make gluten free onion rings, one time someone mentioned they may be vegan as well. So obviously we needed to go find out for ourselves.

We checked in with a hostess around lunch time. I asked her if they had an allergy menu, she said they didn’t but that they are a scratch kitchen. So I asked her if the onion rings could be vegan, she used a radio in her ear to contact the kitchen and was told that yes they could. So we found a table outside to get a snack and a drink.

Once seated our server came over to get our drinks, since we knew what we wanted to eat we also just ordered our vegan onion rings. Our server seemed to have no problem with our special request and quickly returned with our drinks.

After a few minutes our vegan onion rings came out. I never asked, but I am pretty sure these guys are gluten free as well. That being said, if they can do both a gluten free and a vegan onion ring and they’re a scratch kitchen, you can probably request that it be both.

The onion rings were great! They were all huge, I think there was actually only about 6 rings in it. They were super fluffy and not overly crispy. They were a little greasy, but that’s to be expected with fried food! We didn’t ask, but we assume they are from a shared fryer. Since the hostess was so quick to radio the back, you can always ask before dining here.

A week or after our snack here, we experienced lunch too. So keep an eye out for our review of our lunch coming soon!

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!

  1. I ate at Raglan Road today. The onion rings are NOT vegan – I checked before sitting down and again with my waitress and both said no. I double checked because I really like onion rings so I was sad.

    1. Did you ask for the vegan/gluten free ones or the ones that are on the menu? You have to have the specialty ones and not the on menu.
