Dinner at The Wave…of American Flavors

This review reflects our experience from March of 2017.

Paul and I have always wanted to dine at The Wave…of American Flavors, which is located on the lower level of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. On our most recent visit, we were lucky enough to stay at Bay Lake Tower, which is adjacent to the main Contemporary building. Since it was our first trip with an infant and we were super close by, it was the perfect opportunity to visit.

As I mentioned, The Wave is located on the lower level of the resort. There is a separate bar/lounge area near where you check in. The bar area is quite dark, but provided ample seating and would a fun place to meet friends for a drink. Continue reading

Where To Eat Outside Of The Parks With Non-Vegans

People often head outside of the parks for table service meals. There are tons of restaurants located in the resorts and Downtown Disney. Many people may be the lone vegan or are a non-vegan themselves traveling with vegans and want to know where they should eat so everyone can enjoy their meal. Guest Post: The Wave…of American Flavors

Disney World has so many restaurants that we have yet to try them all. Since we can’t stay in Disney long enough to eat everywhere we thought we’d reach out to our readers to hear about some of the places we haven’t been. Our friend Rachel gave us a review of her experience at The Wave… of American Flavors at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.


I visited The Wave during my trip in March 2014. It is located on one of the lower levels of The Contemporary Resort. I was eating at a later hour and the restaurant was busy, but not crowded at all. As soon as the waiter came over, I informed him that I was vegan and he immediately said he would have the chef come out and speak to me. The chef, who was very friendly, went through the items on the menu and recommended the Curry Vegetarian Stew. It was already completely vegan with butternut squash, asparagus, heirloom apples and other veggies. The chef told me he would add some tofu for me and I happily accepted!
