Vegetable Sushi Rolls and Udon Soup in EPCOT

If you’re in EPCOT and on the hunt for a lunch I recommend trying Katsura Grill in the Japan Pavilion. This quick service restaurant is not Disney owned, so it does not follow the plant-based labeling guidelines. Katsura Grill offers both indoor and outdoor seating that truly feels like a sanctuary.

In here we can find a few options ranging from a snack to a meal. If you’re looking for something light and quick you can grab the edamame or the salad. When I came I was here for a meal so I did not get those.

The Vegetable Sushi Roll here is pre-packaged like from a grocery store. The vegetable roll has cucumber, carrot, avocado, and ginger. The vegetables are crispy and fresh. It’s only eight small pieces, so if you’re opting for just sushi you may want to order two rolls. It also comes with soy sauce packets and a wasabi packet to add some kick. The sushi roll really hit the spot for me when I got this.

To my surprise, the Yasai (Vegetable) Udon is vegan now! I was able to check the ingredient binder which shows it is vegan, the noodles are made in a shared facility and the way it’s written in the binder makes it look like it contains non-vegan items, but if you read it in full it’s just noting a shared facility.

The Yasai Udon comes with tons of thick udon noodles and a sesame flavored broth. The vegetables were interesting as they completely raw, which wasn’t my favorite. I did enjoy the broccoli as it soaked up the broth though and really enjoyed the dried black fungus too, it was a nice texture for this. The bowl was a nice size and paired perfectly as a meal with the sushi.

So if you’re looking for something to eat while wandering World Showcase, or are just in a search for some vegetables, I recommend trying these.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
