Grilled Vegetable Skewer from Primo Piatto

I think I have a new favorite vegan quick service option at Walt Disney World. I finally went to Primo Piatto at Disney’s Riviera Resort to try their Grilled Vegetable Skewer and it did not disappoint.

Primo Piatto

Disney’s Riviera Resort is located directly next to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and on the skyliner path from that resort and Epcot. This is an easy hop from the parks or resorts on the path to try this for a meal. If you want to visit and are driving yourself here, you will need to have your mobile order already placed when you arrive to this resort to get in. (They are super strict here about who they let in to park. When I went the security guard made me select “prepare my order” while I was talking to him before I was allowed in to park.)

Primo Piatto is located in the main courtyard area (or activity lawn) of the resort. It offers indoor seating, but there are a few tables scattered around outside to dine at as well. You can also order this meal at Bar Riva, located next to Primo Piatto.

The Grilled Vegetable Skewer is just that, a skewer of harissa-marinated grilled vegetables on a grilled pita with quinoa, vegan yogurt, and a lemon-tomato vinaigrette. It does not come with any side, but it is a very large portion. At the time it was $12.99.

I wasn’t totally sure how to eat this, do you take the veggies off the skewer and eat it as a sandwich or use a fork and knife? I ended up eating it like a sandwich and recommend doing it this way, just be sure to grab some napkins!

On the skewer there was a variety of vegetables; peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant, and onion. It was covered in a lemon-tomato vinaigrette and had a nice mild heat to it.

The pita bread was grilled to perfection, with a great warmth to it and the taste from the grill. The bread was easy to roll to wrap around all the vegetables.

I ended up spreading around the quinoa and yogurt to cover the whole pita so that the sandwich version of this would have all the flavors at once. The yogurt added a nice tang to the dish and helped cool the slight heat from the vegetables. I would not say this is spicy, but if you’re heat sensitive you may want extra yogurt.

This wrap was full of flavor and full of fresh vegetables! An option like this is absolutely amazing when you’ve been eating theme park food, and I hope we see more options like this in the future. I highly recommend planning a stop at Disney’s Riviera Resort on your next Disney trip.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!

  1. You aren’t kidding!! The veggie skewer at Primo Piatto is the best thing I’ve ever eaten at WDW. It is SO worth the Skyliner trip to Riviera. I will be going back EVERY time I visit WDW!

  2. Looks delish! Hope they start to do more options like this rather than the meat substitute meals 🙂
