What’s new at Erin McKenna’s Bakery

Over the weekend we stopped by Erin McKenna’s Bakery at Disney Springs to see what was new. We often stop in when in Disney Springs, a vegan bakery usually calls our name. If you’ve never been to Erin McKenna’s before, this bakery is 100% vegan and gluten free. It is an allergy friendly bakery that features mostly sweets, savory items, and ice cream! They used to have soft serve, but now have hand scooped ice cream instead.

Erin McKenna’s Bakery is located in The Landing at Disney Springs which is in between the Boathouse and T-REX Cafe. This bakery has a large refrigerated case with cupcakes, cakes, cookies, cookie sandwiches, eclairs, and more. There is also a counter with non-refrigerated items like brownie bites, coffee cake, donuts, bagels, and others.

During this stop we noticed a new item, a cupcake top sandwich! Of course Bridget had to get one as she jokingly said “this is how I eat cupcakes anyway.” The sandwich was just okay though, not very flavorful. Seemed like a day old cupcake they tried to make pretty to sell it. A one and done for us.

I opted for an eclair, which did not survive my backpack in the heat for the afternoon. Many of their items with frosting require refrigeration, so be warned with the Florida heat! That being said, I popped it in the fridge when I got home many hours later and still enjoyed it the next day, it just did not look nearly as nice as it did when I bought it. You can see it in the case on the middle of the middle shelf.

If you’re looking for a savory option, or perhaps a breakfast for your room the next day, we recommend grabbing a bagel and cream cheese! It doesn’t taste like a normal bagel, but like if a bagel and a dinner roll had a baby. Another great next day option are the tea cakes or donuts.

What’s your favorite thing to get at Erin McKenna’s Bakery?

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
