New Savanna Salad at Harambe Market

Harambe Market was closed for a few months and reopened as the rest of DinoLand U.S.A. closed to be replaced with the Tropical Americas. With this they have altered their menu to cater to the menu that Restaurantosuarus had, ie burgers and fries. Unfortunately for us, they did not move our delicious Impossible Burger from there to here.

Our new option here is the Savanna Salad which features ‘Mixed Greens, Lentils, Carrots, Couscous, Kachumbari, Toasted Almonds, and Citrus-Harissa Dressing’.

This salad was a really refreshing option. I did see several going out with other orders, so it seems people are looking for something with vegetables while on vacation.

I enjoyed the couscous that was on top of the salad. It reminded me of the couscous served at Tusker House, which is vibrant and full of flavor. They did put a large scoop of it on the greens as well, which made it more filling. There were some lentils and chickpeas scattered throughout the couscous as well. I enjoyed the textures throughout with the almonds and the citrus-harissa dressing had a nice sweet heat with it. The tomatoes and cucumbers added a freshness and volume to this salad.

I would happily enjoy this meal if in need of some greens. While it isn’t my favorite quick service option at Animal Kingdom, I did really enjoy it.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
