New Plant-Based Colombian-Style Hot Dog

NEW FOOD!! It feels like forever since we’ve had something new added to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We have not one, but TWO new items at this park.

Over at Terra Treats you can find the brand new Plant-Based Colombian-Style Hot Dog. This is a food stand right by the entrance into the Africa area of this park near Creature Comforts (Starbucks). There is no seating here, so either head towards Tamu Tamu in Africa for seating or back to Pizzafari.

The Plant-based Colombian-Style Hot Dog was added to the menu in late October and features a spicy Beyond Sausage topped with salsa verde, ketchup-mayonaise, pineapple sauce, and crushed potato chips. It also comes with a side of kettle chips.

I have never had a Colombian dog before, but if this is what they’re like then sign me up! This was saucy, but not a mess to eat, and the crushed chips added a really nice texture that was more like a bread crumb than chips. It had a mix of sweet with the pineapple sauce, a slight heat with the sausage, and of course just all around creamy deliciousness with the ketchup-mayo. The sausage was cooked well and I really loved this.

I hope this item stays for the long haul. I have heard a rumor that Animal Kingdom is testing food items for the new Tropical Americas land they are developing, so if that’s the case, DISNEY PLEASE KEEP THIS ONE.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
