Secret Gluten Free and Vegan Cheese Pizza

If you’re mourning the loss of rat pizza, also know as PizzeRizzo, at Hollywood Studios then I have a tip for you! Last year Gina (Gluten Free WDW) and I tried to get this pizza while doing our GF/Vegan Hollywood Studios video, but that day they didn’t have the vegan cheese. With the closing of PizzeRizzo I wanted to give this another try to see if we still had a potential pizza option in this park.

Catalina Eddie’s is a quick service restaurant located off Sunset Blvd in the Sunset Ranch Market near Tower of Terror. This quick service is all pizza and they have the cauliflower gluten free crust and dairy free vegan cheese available. The only downside is you have to order this in person as you can only modify for dairy free or gluten free and not both. The standard pizza crust here is not vegan friendly, so you do have to do the gluten free version.

The pizza took just over 10 minutes to get and we opted for a side of chips instead of a salad. They do have a modified salad if you prefer, as the standard is caesar, but I figured the chips would be enjoyed by my son or I could bring them home for later. Just like the other locations using this crust, the pizza was huge and was perfect for my son and I to share.

We probably should have waited a bit for our pizza to cool because when we went to pull the slices the cheese pretty much all tried to slide off. We were able to save it though, but just a warning for others who plan to get this! They do not go light on the cheese here.

The flavor was pretty basic and the crust was on the softer side. I can’t believe I am typing this, but I actually prefer the version of this from Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom. This was enjoyable, though a bit hard to eat given how flimsy the crust was and the amount of cheese that was on it. Whether you’re looking for a pizza or something you know your kids will eat, this is an easy option to get and my son approved it for other vegan kids.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
