What’s for breakfast at Spyglass Grill

If you’re staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort you may be wondering what is vegan for breakfast at your resort. This resort has two quick service dining locations, and one of them is located near the Disney Skyliner. That is where you will find Spyglass Grill.

This quick service location is all outdoor seating and offers mobile ordering on the My Disney Experience app. This is an easy location to get to if you’re staying at another Skyliner resort as you can walk over easily from the station to eat here.

For breakfast here we have three vegan options. We only tried two of them, as one of those options is Oatmeal. So let’s see what the vegan options are that we enjoyed!

Trinidad Sunrise Crispy Yuca Bowl

First up we have the Trinidad Sunrise Crispy Yuca Bowl, which is very similar to the bowl they serve during lunch and dinner. This bowl comes with plant-based eggs over crispy yuca, black beans, and pico de gallo.

Trinidad Sunrise Crispy Yuca Bowl,

This bowl was hefty, it had to have weighed at least 2 pounds. The bowl had so much vegan egg they might have used an entire bottle of it. The crispy yuca under was a plenty and very enjoyable. It had a nice crispy edge and was soft on the inside, including the pieces under all the vegan egg.

The black beans didn’t make or break the dish, I appreciate the legume as a protein though. I could have used some more pico based on the portion hiding under all the vegan egg. We ended up adding hot sauce to it and it was a nice addition to the bowl.

Breakfast Wrap

The other vegan breakfast here is the Breakfast Wrap. This is a tortilla filled with plant-based eggs, plant-based chorizo, and spinach, and comes with a side of breakfast potatoes. The tortilla on ours was super crunchy, like they had left it under the salamander while making the other dish. It didn’t ruin the wrap, but it wasn’t the ideal texture.

As whole this wrap was fine, I added hot sauce to this as well since it was missing any type of sauce with it. The more we ate it, we decided that the “chorizo” is actually just seasoned Beyond Sausage due to texture, but we really did enjoy the flavor of the chorizo. The texture of the whole wrap was fine but I would love to see some more happening with it. I wish they had maybe potatoes or cheese or a sauce in it, something to make it heartier and also a sauce always makes everything better.

Breakfast Potatoes

The potatoes were on the dry side. They seemed like they could have been yesterdays potatoes or ones made early in the morning and sat out until 10 when we got our food. Those are likely to be hit or miss when getting them anyway.

I forever am hoping to have a breakfast wrap at Walt Disney World that even remotely compares to those at Disneyland. My favorite being the Soy Chorizo Country Breakfast Burrito from Galactic Grill which is filled with Soy Chorizo, Spiced Potatoes, Grilled Peppers, Onions, Egg, Cheddar, Pico de Gallo and Chipotle Sauce in a Spinach Flour Tortilla. Something like that here would be AMAZING, so I will keep bringing it up anytime I have a subpar vegan breakfast burrito at Walt Disney World. Please give us potatoes and sauce in wraps. See photo below from Disneyland to see how saucy they should be.

As a whole this is a solid breakfast to start your day. It’s an easy one to get to from the Skyliner too if you have a Hollywood Studios or EPCOT day planned. It is absolutely plenty of food and you’ll be ready to set out into the parks for the morning after these.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
