It‘s been several years since Galaxy‘s Edge opened at Hollywood Studios and when it initially opened they introduced one of the most delicious vegan options we‘d seen at the parks yet. Over at Docking Bay 7 there was an Impossible meat dish that was a favorite for vegans and non-vegans alike. However, this month they reimagined this dish and replaced the Impossible meat with a different plant based option.

Docking Bay 7 is a large quick service restaurant that features both indoor and outdoor seating. I definitely recommend utilizing mobile ordering here if you don‘t have an allergy as the line can get quite long.
The new vegan entree here is now the Felucian Falafel and Hummus Garden Spread. This new version features a beet hummus and also added beets into the tomato and cucumber salad. The balls are now chickpea based falafel rather than Impossible Kefta, and there is a purple garlic sauce drizzled on the falafel.

The falafel were nice and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. They had a nice texture and herby flavor. The garlic sauce them was delicious and very garlicky. This was some of the best falafel I have had at Disney, so I am happy that they nailed this one.

The beet hummus just tasted like their previous hummus, I imagine it was more beet for color rather than flavor. It was still creamy and had a simple hummus flavor. I still don’t feel that they give you enough hummus though. But I am glad they got rid of the drizzle of oil the other version had.

The salad with beets, tomato, and cucumber was good. That was really the only place that you‘d find that earthy beet flavor. Just like the previous version, you get three slices of pita bread with this. By the time I finished my falafel I had eaten pretty much all the hummus and still had over 2 and a half pieces of the pita. I suppose if you want to make it more of a handheld with the falafel you‘d eat more of the pita, but I always end up with a ton left over.
Another new item this year is a side of Crispy Herbed Yuca. This is a delicious crispy addition and the yuca has tons of flavorful herbs on it. The inside is soft and it is a nice little treat. I do wish it had a sauce, though I saw someone say they asked for extra garlic sauce to dip their yuca in, and well, I am absolutely doing that next time!

I was really sad to see the Felucian Kefta go, but this was a worthy replacement. I also really appreciated that it didn‘t give me the Kefta burps for hours after eating them, if you ever ate the previous dish you know what I‘m talking about. I will still consider this one of my favorite meals and places to go while at Hollywood Studios.
If you want to make the Felucian Kefta at home, have no fear! Corey came up with a recipe for this years ago and it‘s been a favorite for many since. You can find it here.
