Vegan Options at the NEW eet by Maneet Chauhan

We have a new quick service restaurant over at Disney Springs and it’s from a famous Food Network chef! Maneet Chauhan is often seen on Chopped, Guy’s Grocery Games, and many other Food Network shows. This isn’t her first restaurant, but it is her first one at Disney Springs. This is an Indian cuisine quick service and it is a great addition to Walt Disney World property.

eet is located in the Marketplace section of Disney Springs where the old Wolfgang Puck Express used to be. You can find it next to the Christmas store and you will smell it before you see it. This restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter where you will find a labeled menu noting the vegan options and then they will bring your food to you. The food was very quick to arrive after we ordered.

For our visit we opted to try shareable D.I.Y. Pani Puri, we got two BYOB bowls (which I will explain what we got further down), and then got the Masala Fries. Additionally the Desi Salad and the Tamarind Chutney were vegan, but we didn’t try those at this time.

I did ask when we went if anything was vegan that wasn’t labeled that way or could be without a sauce. The manager said only the Street Style Puffed Rice Salad without the Mint Chutney. I am unsure why the Samosas wouldn’t be vegan without that sauce but I hope eventually they are because I want samosas!

The D.I.Y. Pani Puri was a fun dish to attempt. It was one of those better in theory than in practice, but once we got the hang of it it was enjoyable. The D.I.Y. Pani Puri includes 7 semolina puffs, a black garbanzo bean mix with potatoes, tamarind, and date chutney, crunchy puffs, and then a little bottle filled with mint cilantro water.

To our surprise the filling was very cold, like just came out of the back of the fridge cold, but it was a nice soft texture with the crispy semolina puff. The mint cilantro water was a really great additional flavor and added some brightness to the dish. The puffs were very strong and I was able to do two bites per puff rather than popping it in in one bite as they had suggested. I would definitely enjoy this dish again as a nice little snack or an addition to a meal like we did today.

For the BYOB (Build Your Own Bowls) we opted to try all three bases since they are all vegan. I asked if I could get two bases in a bowl and was told yes but then was given the secondary base in a side cup, which I then added to my bowl as I ate it.

The BYOB bases include cumin basmati rice, turmeric riced cauliflower, and fresh salad greens. We got the riced cauliflower as the additional one since our kabob was going to be masala roasted cauliflower. That seemed like a lot of cauliflower. The bowl also comes with a sauce in which three are vegan, the Moilee (golden coconut curry), Korma (cashew saffron) [as of January 3 2024 the korma is just vegetarian and no longer vegan], and Bhunna (classic Indian curry). We went with the Korma and the Bhunna. In addition to the options you pick the bowl also comes with pickled red cabbage, Indian pico de gallo, and masala chickpeas.

Fresh Salad Greens, Masala Cauliflower, Bhunna

My bowl was the fresh salad greens base with masala cauliflower and bhunna sauce. The curry sauce was definitely on the hotter end of things and was so delicious. The flavors in the bowl were all so strong and stood out on their own. The heat was a nice addition as in Walt Disney World things are usually watered down when they should be spicy, so I really appreciated the flavors and heat of this. The masala roased cauliflower was cooked well and in larger florests which made it easier to eat.

Cumin Basmati Rice, Masala Cauliflower, Korma

Corey’s bowl was a basmati rice bowl with the masala cauliflower and korma. The flavors were really great for this one and it was a very hearty mix with the rice base. The korma was creamy and had a nice flavor to it that had a small note of sweetness with no heat. [as of January 3 2024 the korma is just vegetarian and no longer vegan]

Turmeric Riced Cauliflower

The turmeric riced cauliflower was also enjoyable but I wouldn’t get it in my bowl on another visit as it’s just a lot with the cauliflower being our “protein” as well. Everything tasted very fresh and crisp.

The Masala Fries were SO GOOD. They were the perfect crispy french fry with a pillowy potato inside. The masala flavor was very mild but it was there and it was perfect. I think it would have been nice to get a side of the tamarind chutney for this to dip in, maybe next time! But I will absolutely be back for these delicious french fries.

Masala Fries

This is really a great addition to Disney Springs. The food tasted so good, everything was cooked well, and had a really nice freshness to it. There were lots of other people dining there when we went for lunch and everyone looked pleased with their meals, which I love to see. I really hope this sticks around and they keep the flavors as rich as they are. I will absolutely be eating here again.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!

  1. They’ve also added vegan falafel as well a vegan alternative “Kebab” filler for the BYOB option. Very good size and had 5 in my bowl, and tasty!
