Greens and Grains Salad from Pizzafari

I’ve been slowly working through my mission of finding the best faux meat free vegan options throughout Walt Disney World property. I’ve been finding more and more restaurants are making their vegan options just a burger, which is fine every once in a while, but when you’re on vacation you can only stomach so many of those. So I have been looking for and trying the non faux meat options to share with you guys!

One of those options can be found in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Pizzafari. Pizzafari is located near Africa and Pandora. The vegan option here is the Greens and Grains Salad. This option is easy to find and order on the My Disney Experience app under Plant-based.

This dish comes with mixed greens tossed in a Green Goddess Dressing, and is topped with a mix of chickpeas, white beans, onion, kalamata olives, quinoa, and tomatoes. The menu says pepperoncini as well, though mine did not have that.

The top part of this salad was delicious. I loved the bean mix with the quinoa. I would happily eat that on its own. It had a nice tang to it and the texture of the beans with the quinoa was quite nice.

Greens and Grains Salad

The mixed greens part of this salad was where I was lost. The salad was completely overdressed and made most of the greens soggy. Often times things are under dressed, so while I was happy to see so much dressing at first, while eating it I didn’t enjoy it as much.

Greens and Grains Salad

I would get this salad again, but I would make a request for the dressing to be on the side for me. I think mixing up the bean salad on top of the greens with the dressing would be the best move for this. Overall I really enjoyed this, but could do without the soggy lettuce!

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!

  1. Hi there! One of our kids has celiac disease, do you perhaps know if this dish is also gf?
One thing I’m concerned about a multi-day visit at the resort/parks is having impossible burgers at every meal, so thank you for doing this!

    1. Hi! It is listed under the gluten allergy section on the mobile ordering, so it looks to be so!
