There’s a new snack at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that is a great savory choice. Head over to Kusafari in the Africa section of this park to find it.

Kusafari is located between Tusker House Restaurant and the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction. This location is open most of the day, however they serve breakfast until 10:30am. After 10:30am you can find the Spiced Potato Hand Pies.

These are not marked as plant based due to the aioli sauce that comes with them. It’s easy to order these and just ask for it without the sauce, which comes in a container anyway. The Spiced Potato Hand Pies feature chickpeas, potatoes, cauliflower, and lots of spices.

You get two of these little crispy hand pies and the coriander chutney is vegan that comes with it as well. There is a real slight heat to them, but nothing that I would tell non-spicy food eaters to steer away from. The flavors of the veggies with the chickpeas and the delicious dough truly all go together so well. The coriander adds a nice flavor to the mix as well.

Next visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom you need to try these crispy hand pies. They offer tons of flavor, crunch, and softness on the inside. These are like an empanada version of a samosa and I highly recommend them!
