Geyser Point Bar & Grill’s Off-Menu Beyond Burger

One of our absolute favorite spots to relax in the evening is at Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This all outdoor location is located on the water with comfy chairs and is mostly under cover. They also have a large bar, which is easy to grab a drink and wander the resort. They do not open until after 4pm daily.

We recently went and encountered a unique situation for how this spot is handling things with COVID-19 restrictions. When we walked up there were markers for a line, but no one in line. We spoke with a cast member and gave our information to request a table, we were told the expected wait time and went off to await the text telling us it was time.

After about 5 minutes over our expected wait time I received the text and we were immediately seated. We looked over the digital menu and saw the only on menu option for us appeared to be edamame. I knew that they previously had a Beyond Burger but it wasn’t guaranteed they still did with the current climate.

We spoke with our server, who was actually a relocated chef, so she knew what we were asking for in terms of what vegan actually is. She went to check and told us that they did still have a Beyond Burger so our option was that, Edamame, or the Grilled Portobello Salad without the Goat Cheese Dressing. We ordered the edamame and burger.

The Edamame comes with a Chili-Salt on it. This is actually pretty spicy, which I loved. If you’re not a heat person I suggest asking for just salt.

Edamame

They were cooked well and were warm. You get a great shareable portion of these too. I really enjoyed the spice from the chili with the salt. I would get these again on my next visit here.

The Beyond Burger was incredibly basic. It was literally just a bun, lettuce, and tomato. The previous version of this came with caramelized onions which really added to this. I had to ask for condiments because it didn’t come with any.

The burger and bun were incredibly dry. I hope that some day they come up with a creative burger option here that is labeled vegan on the menu. But this didn’t hit the spot. This used to be a good burger and it was usually cooked really well, but this night it was nothing I want to eat again. Additionally, they not longer have waffle fries here and only have shoestring fries.

This is a great spot to hangout, have a drink and a snack. We even caught the Electrical Water Pageant that night. I recommend it for a snack, but I don’t recommend the burger they currently offer.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
