Vegan Pasta from Lombard’s Seafood Grille at Universal Studios

Universal Orlando Resort is pretty heavy with counter service style dining, but they do have some great full service restaurants scattered around. We went to try out Lombard’s Seafood Grille a few weeks ago as we knew they had a vegan pasta available on their menu. Lombard’s is located at Universal Studios Florida, in the San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf area (which is near London/Diagon Alley). Currently they have pretty limited hours which means they close early afternoon. I recommend checking on the app their hours if you are hoping to do a dinner here.

We went to try the Plant-Based Penne Genovese, which is vegan as is with a label on the menu. The pasta features penne noodles, Beyond Sausage, cherry tomatoes, roasted broccoli, vegan parmesan, and a basil oil. When we dined, we were one of three tables eating at the restaurant at the time.

They do also have a salad you can get vegan by omitting pretty much half of the salad, the San Francisco Cobb Salad. We don’t recommend it. Corey actually got this when we went but I didn’t grab a photo of it. It was very dry and he left still hungry.

However, my Penne Genovese was absolutely delicious. The basil oil was basically a pesto, which paired well with the cooked cherry tomatoes and sausage slices. I really enjoyed that they had vegan parmesan as well. My pasta didn’t have any broccoli, but I don’t think it was missing it.

The portion of the pasta was large and the dish was very filling. This is a pasta I would actually want to get again, as the whole dish was excellent. At Universal Studios there are two full service restaurants, both of which have clearly labeled vegan options on the menu. I guess we need to check out Finnegan’s Bar & Grill soon for the Beyond Burger Vegan Shepard’s Pie! If you want to eat at these restaurants, be sure to get a dining reservation in the morning when you arrive (especially if you want to do Finnegan’s), however we were able to do a walkup at Lombard’s.

As always, if you’re looking for an extensive list of the vegan options at Universal Orlando Resort, be sure to check out Universal Orlando Vegans Vegan Wiki page for an updated list.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
