Best Snacks in Animal Kingdom

If you’re spending the day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom you may crave a snack at some point. There are plenty of snack options all through Animal Kingdom that will help put your stomach at ease. We’ve created a list of our favorite snacks in Animal Kingdom that are all vegan friendly.

9. Mixed Fruit/Whole Fruit
If you’re looking for a sweet healthy option while you’re in the parks you can find fresh fruit throughout. This item does accept Disney Dining Plan snack credit. Harambre Fruit Market in Africa has the largest selection of fruit from strawberries to watermelon. You can also find fruit at Bradley Falls in Asia and Gardens Kiosk in Discovery Island.

8. Edamame
If you want a healthier salty snack than popcorn you’re in luck. This item does accept Disney Dining Plan snack credit. You can find Edamame Beans at Bradley Falls in Asia and Mr. Kamal’s in Asia.

7. Hummus with Pita and Vegetables
If you’re trying to be healthy during your Disney trip this is pretty much the last healthy choice on the list. At Mr. Kamal’s in Asia you can get hummus with pita bread and vegetables. This item does NOT accept Disney Dining Plan snack credit. You can also find hummus at the Gardens Kiosk in Discovery Island. Additionally at Mr. Kamal’s you can get a Falafel Sandwich, just take off the tzatiki sauce to make it vegan.

Just like in all the Disney Parks, salted Mickey pretzels are vegan! This item does accept Disney Dining Plan snack credit. You can find Mickey Pretzels at Harambe Fruit Market in Africa, Upcountry in Asia, Beastly Kiosk in Discovery Island and Isle of Java in Discovery Island.

5. Popcorn
Craving that salty buttery crunch? Popcorn in Disney Parks is vegan! This item does accept Disney Dining Plan snack credit. You can find popcorn at Harambe Popcorn in Discovery Island.

4. Tofutti Ice Cream
On a hot Florida day you may need some cooling down. Ice cream is a great way to take a cool break in the parks. At the Gardens Kiosk in Discovery Island you can get whole pints of chocolate and vanilla Tofutti brand ice cream. This item does accept Disney Dining Plan snack credit.

3. Samosa
If you’ve ever eaten in Tusker House you’ve probably had the Samosa there. These are the same delicious samosas! This is a great filling snack that you can’t find at any of the other parks. This item does NOT accept Disney Dining Plan snack credit. You can find samosas at Mr. Kamal’s in Asia.

Dark Rum Dole Whip

2. Pineapple Dole Whip
Everyone loves Dole Whips, that’s why Disney keeps bringing them to the other parks. You can now find Pineapple Whip soft serve at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Africa. You can get this with our without rum, unfortunately the pineapple juice is not here. The pineapple soft serve only does accept Disney Dining Plan snack credit. The soft serve with rum does not accept it.

1. Babycakes NYC/Erin McKenna’s Bakery
Cupcakes, cookies, donuts, oh my! Erin McKenna’s Bakery is making a return to Disney Springs this spring, but you can still find her gluten free vegan treats at the Gardens Kiosk in Discovery Island. All of these items do accept Disney Dining Plan snack credit. (I contacted @EmBakeryFL on Twitter and was told they currently do not supply donuts to Animal Kingdom but you can still get them at Beach Club Marketplace. Feb. 17, 2015)

You may be able to find other new snacks when you’re in the park. These are the items we felt are worth your snack credit and money.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
