Vegan Options at Beak and Barrel

Ahoy Matey! We’re heading to Magic Kingdom to try the new bar that opened that features Pirates of the Caribbean. Beak and Barrel is very similar to Oga’s Cantina in Hollywood Studios as they utilize a strict 45 minute/2 drink rule. And since it’s Magic Kingdom, you cannot take your beverages to go.

In terms of theming this bar was very cool. Like Oga’s, you may end up standing, but there is definitely more seating here. There are several rooms in this bar so your views and experiences may vary. We were seated in the central location and got to catch a bit of the action behind the bar.

When it comes to food here we can modify the Island Provisions to be vegan. This includes Plantain Chips, Blue Corn Chips, and Toasted Flatbread with Mango Chutney, Garlic Chimichurri, Spiced Guava, and Zesty Culantro Cream Dips. To make this vegan you just remove the flatbread and cream dip. Since we lost a dip our server recommended getting two garlic chimichurris, so that is what we did.

We really enjoyed this bar snack. It is way more food then you would expect, and we didn’t even end up finishing it before we got the boot. The plantain chips and the blue corn tortillas were well paired with the various dips. We definitely agreed that the chimichurri was the best one, but that guava one was a close second. I really liked that one with the plantain chips!

When it comes to drinks I am not super knowledgable about what alcohol is and isn’t vegan so I usually just lean towards non-alcoholic. However, two of the three NA drinks weren’t vegan and I didn’t want to spend $7 on a Sprite with juice. I was hoping to try the Berried Treasure Session Sour but we contacted Wicked Weed Brewing and found out that it contains lactose. So just a heads up if you are a sour beer fan like I am, we have to skip it.

This is a spot I would recommend trying if you’re on vacation. It’s definitely something to experience once whether or not you’re a pirates fan like me.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
