Feeling Frittered at Raglan Road

There is nothing better than enjoying a restaurant, waiting a long time to go back, and it still being just as good as you remembered it to be. I recently visited Raglan Road at Disney Springs to do some investigating and ended up full from an absolutely delicious meal.

Raglan Road is an Irish restaurant located centrally in Disney Springs. This restaurant is open for lunch, dinner, and offers weekend brunch as well. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options and often times you’ll find live entertainment. When I was there for lunch on a weekday there was no entertainment, but it absolutely did not take away from the experience.

A top-down view of a table set with three dishes: a serving of fritters in a basket, a bowl of a savory pie topped with parsley in sauce, and a vibrant noodle dish garnished with herbs and vegetables, all on decorative blue plates.

To start here you must get the Sure I’m Frittered vegan appetizer. This appetizer features a broccoli and corn fritter with a sweetcorn pure and fire roasted pepper relish. It comes in a large nest-like structure and is large enough to enjoy with others.

The fritter is crunchy and also has a nice soft texture to the vegetables inside the breading. The relish and the puree were a welcome creaminess to add to the crunch. The whole appetizer was very enjoyable and I would happily enjoy that with a pint and some live music outside.

The reason we came here was that someone thought they had done away with the onion rings, but no need to worry, they still have them. Listed under sides you will find Onion Rings. These are now gluten free and vegan as is, which is great news. But as always be sure to mention you’re vegan to ensure everything is handled properly.

The onion rings are a perfect onion to breading ratio. I do wish it had a sauce, even something like the relish or puree that we had with the fritter. They always offer a nice bite and are a great snack. They are lightly salted and it may be hard to share these because they’re so good.

The entree here has changed a bit since my last visit, the This Sheppie went Veggie has changed names over the years and now has changed a bit in ingredients and gravy as well.

A close-up view of a Shepherd's Pie topped with golden mashed potatoes and garnished with fresh parsley, served in a bowl with a rich gravy.

The (new to me) Shepherds Pie here now comes with a mix of root vegetables, three beans and lentils and bulgar wheat. It’s topped with olive oil mashed potatoes and a roasted pepper and cherry tomato gravy. The potatoes are creamy and have a nice little cook to the top of them adding a bit of a crunch. The bean base is a welcome change and I really liked the texture this offered, it also made it feel more hearty. The gravy has more of a Southwestern flavor profile with cumin, but it honestly works really well.

Unfortunately there are no vegan desserts here, but on the plus side you are right around the corner from Erin McKenna’s Bakery when you dine here, so save room for a little treat if you can! This is a restaurant I always recommend to people and also recommend you make an advanced dining reservation when doing weekends or dinners. Enjoy!

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
