Heading to Disney Springs anytime soon? You need to stop by Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC for their fun new offerings. This bakery is 100% vegan and gluten free. They have tons of options to enjoy, but right now we’re focusing on the new fun summer options.
Right now they have a bunch of seasonal summer foods reimagined as desserts. You can find Sweet Faux Fries with ketchup, Donut Corndogs, Faux Hot Dogs, Pizza Cookies, Taco Cookies, and Slider Cupcakes. These look like the real thing but taste nothing like them (thankfully!). When we went we tried 4 of the options and truly loved them all.
The Faux Hot Dog had me feeling some type of way when I cut it in half. The color of the buttercream truly looked liked a hot dog which was hilarious and disgusting at the same time. The cake for the bun was nice and moist and the icing flavors were just vanilla. It was a nice little treat and super fun to eat.
The Pizza Cookie was a delicious chocolate chip cookie with plenty of frosting on it. It tasted like a cookie sandwich sans the extra cookie. I really loved the design of the toppings on the cookie, it was truly so well done. Look at the peppers!
The Taco Cookie was very good and actually had a slice of cake on the inside to resemble the “meat crumbles”. The frosting was used to be the taco toppings and the cookie was nice and soft. I think I liked this the best out of all of the ones we ate.
Lastly we tried the Slider Cupcake. I liked this one because it was made basically how I prefer to eat cupcakes anyway, broken in half with the frosting sandwiched inside. This one really messed with my brain in how it looked, the tomato truly looked that way when it squished out and I was so confused. Luckily it was not tomato flavored and just more vanilla buttercream.
These are super fun and I recommend you try them. I have found that the food here is often hit or miss for me, and I honestly loved all of these. Nothing was dry and the cookies were soft. I can’t speak for how they will always be, but the ones we had were great. I’ll absolutely be back for these this summer.
