For the longest time all the value and moderate (with the exception of Coronado Springs) resorts have had pretty much the same vegan options. That has recently changed though! We saw a menu update this week and made our way over to Disney’s All-Star Movie’s Resort to try the new vegan option.

The new Mediterranean Meatball Bowl has replaced the previous Impossible Meatloaf. This dish can also be found at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort in their quick service locations. Starting around May 29th you will also find this at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. I want to note that on the app it is not in the Plant-based section when looking at the menu or mobile ordering but it IS plant-based.

The new bowl features vegan Impossible Meatballs, which seemed like ball versions of the previous meatloaf. It comes with a couscous salad, plant-based tzatziki sauce, pickled onions, and cauliflower pita crisps.

The meatballs themselves have a harissa spice on them and you get three large meatballs. They had a nice texture and cook to them, as I said before, it was similar to the meatloaf. The flavor of the harissa wasn’t strong at all, but you could tell they were seasoned with some sort of glaze.
The couscous salad was vibrant and flavorful. I love the texture of Israeli couscous so I really enjoyed it. Eating all of it together was a great mix of flavors and textures. The tzatziki was a nice creamy addition and great when mixed around.

The cauliflower pita, I am pretty sure, was just the cauliflower pizza crust you can find at the parks like at Pinocchios Village Haus. They were very good and had a dusting of salt on them and a nice bite. They didn’t taste overwhelmingly of cauliflower without pizza toppings, which was my only concern. As a whole I really loved this dish. I enjoyed the previous Impossible Meatloaf, but I definitely liked this one more. It is a much better option as we head into summer.

In addition to the bowl there was also a grab and go Asian Noodle Salad. This was pre-packaged and would be easy to store in your room for an after park snack.

The flavors were pretty muted, but the vegetables were fresh with a nice crunch where expected. There was cucumber, broccoli, edamame, carrot, tomato, and onion. I would grab some soy sauce and or sriracha to elevate these. This is a good option for those who want to have a plant forward meal or something lighter.

They do also still have the Korean Inspired Impossible Burger here which you can read about here.
