Lunch in a Speakeasy, but make it Disney Springs

Whether you’re looking for some Italian food or to load up on some carbs before a RunDisney event, I recommend you check out either Maria and Enzo’s Ristorante, or Enzo’s Hideaway. Both of these Disney Springs restaurants offer the same menu, but the restaurant vibe is very different. We opted to dine at Enzo’s Hideaway which feels more like a speakeasy.

While this restaurant is not Disney owned and doesn’t label the options that are vegan, they are very accommodating. I know from Princess and the Bear that you can get the Focaccia della Casa vegan as a starter by omitting the whipped ricotta, and of course there are also olives as an additional appetizer here. When we went for lunch we opted to just head for the entrees and skipped those.

During lunch they have a vegetable sandwich called the Verdure Panini. This sandwich comes with roasted eggplant, zuchinni, red peppers, portobello, baby arugula, salsa verde, and comes with a mixed greens salad.

The sandwich was very enjoyable and simple. The vegetables were cooked well and offered an actual bite and texture to them. The bread was a ciabatta and had a nice crunch to the outside and held up well with the vegetables inside. The side salad was light and fresh. This whole entree is a great lunch option full of vegetables.

If you’re looking for pasta we can get the Paccheri Al Ragu Di Cavolfiore modified to be vegan by omitting the cheese. The house made pasta does not contain egg here, but I do recommend double checking incase that has changed. This dish features a cauliflower ragu, Calabrian chili, and lemon extra virgin olive oil.

The cauliflower ragu offered a nice extra volume to the dish. However, given that it was cooked cauliflower it was pretty mushy, but in this context it worked well. The pasta was cooked perfectly and I really loved the shape of these noodles. There was a slight heat to this dish, but nothing that should be bothersome to those who don’t like spice. I am not one to order pasta while dining out, but this is one I would happily order again.

If you want to try the sandwich you do need to go during lunch. We really enjoyed this meal and would absolutely recommend it if you’re in the mood for a fake meat free meal.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
