Holiday Mine Car Meatballs made vegan!

The holidays have hit the parks in full force. Not only as we seeing the parks decorated, the resorts are on there way, and Disney Springs is almost completely festive too! Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has had their complete holiday makeover and holiday menu items have been added.

When looking over the holiday menu I noticed they had Holiday Mine Car Meatballs. The Mine Car Meatballs were a more recent addition so I went to see if these too could be made vegan just like the normal on menu ones. I am happy to report that they can!

I also need to note HOW CUTE the holiday menu is here. Not only is the whole bar just adorably over the top with decorations, the menu comes on a holiday greeting card.

The Holiday Mine Car Meatballs come topped with a Maple-Bourbon glaze, granny smith apple and cranberry chutney, sweet potato hay, and thyme. To get them vegan I needed to swap the meat meatballs for Impossible meatballs. Additionally, my food took about 45 minutes to get as they made my sauce from scratch since the current sauce was prepared with the meat meatballs already in it.

I loved these meatballs! The flavor was sweet and very much a holiday vibe. The Impossible meatballs were cooked well and had plenty of the glaze on it. I loved the bites I got with everything including the hay and the cranberries.

The sweet potato hay is my preferred over the normal hay for the other Mine Car Meatballs. The sweet potato hay was crunchy and chewy rather than just a crunch. It offered more flavor and was absolutely delicious with the maple-bourbon glaze.

This was an excellent festive little snack. I will of course warn that yours may also take a while, hopefully not as long as mine, but if you’re there for a midday break, rehydration, and snack, it’s perfect. And you can always order the modified pretzel to munch on while you wait!

Keep an eye out for more of the holiday treats to come! I will be working on a roundup video for it on YouTube as well. Happy Holidays!

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
