I know that this area is set for extinction here in the future, but if you have any plans to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom with vegan kids, then you should plan a visit to Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand U.S.A. before it’s gone. There is no specified time for when this land will see an update (as of July 2024), but it is expected to happen in the near future. They are planing to re-theme this land at some point though.

Restaurantosaurus is a quick service restaurant that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. You can also mobile order here, which I always recommend doing if you can. They have two vegan options here, a Impossible Spicy Southwestern Burger and a kids Impossible Burger. I do want to note that the kids burger doesn’t have the plant-based symbol, but on our recent visit here we confirmed it was vegan.

The kids burger comes with your choice of two sides. The vegan kids sides include fries, cuties (oranges), and applesauce. The burger itself is a smaller patty than the adult one and is served plain. They do have condiments available to spruce it up a little if desired. Finn has had this one a few times and always seems to like it.

The Impossible Spicy Southwestern Burger is topped with vegan pepper jack cheese, a spicy vegan chipotle sauce, lettuce, and tomato. I really love the flavors of this burger, but I always find it hard to eat as the cheese always crumbles out and the toppings make the burger try to slide out constantly.

If you’re willing to fight for each bite or reassemble your burger I definitely recommend this one. The burger is usually cooked well and they put a ton of the sauce on it. It definitely does have some heat to it, so calling this one spicy is appropriate. If you don’t do heat, you can always order it without the sauce. I don’t think the cheese would be enough pepper to really make a difference, but if your heat tolerance is 0 then maybe omit that too.

I have enjoyed this burger since they introduced it initially a few years ago for Earth month. It has been a tasty option and one I don’t mind having on regular visits to Animal Kingdom. I hope that whatever the re-theme includes they keep a burger similar to this one upon reopening, whenever that happens.
