It’s been a few years since we visited my favorite Hollywood Studios restaurant, and when Corey was out of town I took our little dude on a mom and Finn day to the park to eat here. We opted to try the Fantasmic! Dining Package for this one since I had never personally done that, nor had I brought Finn to Fantasmic! yet. All of the restaurant at Hollywood Studios offer this, so we went with Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant.

When you book the Fantasmic! Dining Package at Hollywood Studios you pay a prix fixe price for the meal which includes an appetizer or dessert and an entree (or just the buffet if you do Hollywood & Vine), as well as a non-alcoholic beverage. After your meal you get a voucher for the show which allows you a separate entrance into the theater. You also get some pretty great seats at the center of the venue and don’t have to wait in a long line for the show. You can use your voucher for either the first or second show.

For the meal I went with the appetizer option so I could try the new Sci-Fi Impossible Nachos. The nachos are topped with an Impossible and black bean chili, avocado cream, pico de gallo, and cilantro.

The nacho meat tasted like a picadillo and was absolutely delicious. I thought I would miss a queso like sauce on it, but it was not dry at all and had loads of flavor. The avocado cream acted as a nice sauce for the nachos and made things creamier. It’s also a very large portion and could in itself be a meal; or I suppose you could share it with someone if you have to. These were really delicious and I was less sad about these replacing the vegan crab cakes after trying these.

For my entree I decided to try the Pesto Penne Pasta which is filled with sun-dried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, artichokes, onion, and spinach. I really was not a fan of this dish at all.

The pasta was incredibly oily and had little to no flavor. With all the pesto on it I figured it would be more flavorful but it just tasted like oil noodles. The veggies mixed in it were the only redeeming part of this dish. Fortunately for me I was full from the nachos so I didn’t really miss much with this dish, but I recommend sticking to the Flying Saucer Impossible Burger here for the entree.

Since there are no vegan kids options here we asked if we could get an Impossible Burger for Finn. They did up charge us it by about $5. When it first came out they had only accommodated his peanut allergy and brought us a non-vegan burger with dairy cheese on it. After our server left to confirm we were told it was in fact not vegan and they brought out a proper Impossible burger without cheese. He also had fries and fruit as his side, however, when the burger returned correctly made he only had fries.

I also realized after the fact that he was not offered a dessert even though the kids should also have a dessert with the prix fixe price, so I recommend being sure you get that for your kids if you do this.

We did love the Fantasmic! package though as we were able to show up about 30 minutes prior to show time, grab some popcorn, and have a great seat in the middle of the theater. I definitely recommend doing the Fantasmic! Package if you want to see the show.
