We finally made it to one of the restaurants at Walt Disney World that we have wanted to visit for a long time. We always had a hard time getting a dining reservation here unless it was super planned in advanced, and our usual table service at Animal Kingdom was always Tusker House when on vacations. So we finally made it over to Yak & Yeti in the Asia section of that park.

Yak & Yeti is a place that requires an Advanced Dining Reservation most of the time. We ended up securing a walk up right when they opened and only waited 30 minutes for a table. This restaurant features various Asian inspired dishes and is a beautiful space. The restaurant is two stories and has dining on both floors. We were seated upstairs when we dined here and had a great view out the window of the park.

We knew that Yak & Yeti had two veg options on their menu, and from readers over the years we knew they could accommodate several other dishes to be made vegan as well. So when we spoke with our server we asked what swaps we could do and what all was vegan. He told us there were four options total for us, so we ordered all four!

The one vegan as is option here is the Roasted Vegetable Bowl. This dish features brown rice with quinoa, various in season roasted vegetables, and topped with a vegan sriracha aioli. This dish was $19.99, you can add tofu to it for $4.79.

I really enjoyed the fact that this dish was just vegetables. In a world of Beyond and Impossible it’s really nice to have a solid vegetable dish. There were tons of pieces of broccoli as well as zucchini, carrots, cauliflower, onion, and peppers. I didn’t notice any real seasoning to the vegetables here, but the menu states that they’re Kalbi marinated. The aioli had some good heat to it too.

The vegetables were still pretty crunchy and I would have liked more of the aioli. I would order this again and ask for more aioli on the side, maybe some soy sauce too. Out of the meals we had this day, this was one of our least favorite, but it was still very good.
The other option that is mostly vegan on the menu is the Beyond Burger. This burger is vegan as long as you omit the Pepper Jack Cheese on it. The burger is $20.99.

The burger is cooked really well and comes with the same vegan sriracha mayo, onion, arugula, tomato, and Asian pickles. The burger had a great flavor, but could also use more of the mayo. The bun was toasted and we actually really loved this burger. Neither of us had high hopes as we’re feeling a little burnt out on Beyond, but this was a good one.

On the side were sweet potato fries which looked really sad and thin, but were incredibly delicious. They had a nice crunch to them and were salted nicely. However they got very cold quickly due to the AC pumping in there.
One of the swaps we could do was with the Vegetable Lo Mein. We had to swap the noodles to be rice noodles and swap the oyster sauce with soy sauce. You can add tofu to the dish so we also did that. Without the tofu it is $19.99, the added tofu is $4.79.

The noodles were good but not super flavorful. We both felt like they were missing something to really kick it up a notch. But overall we enjoyed the dish. It was packed with vegetables and the tofu was nice and firm.

The last option we could do a Sweet and Sour Tofu. The dish typically comes with chicken, but you can do the tofu instead. It comes with either brown rice or jasmine.

The tofu was firm like on the lo mein and the sauce was super flavorful. The tofu had a similar texture to just throwing it in the air fryer. There was pineapple, peppers, and onions in the sauce and tofu too.
Out of all the food we ate here this was our favorite as it had the most flavor to it. I would absolutely get this again. They do up-charge for the tofu on this dish, but it’s not $5 like the lo mein. This was $24.78.

As a whole we definitely enjoyed the meal. I will be honest and say we had higher expectations after always seeing great reviews of this place over the years. I expected all of the dishes to have the same great flavor intensity as the Sweet and Sour, but two of the four left us wanting something more. I would absolutely eat here again though.
Also to note, Yak & Yeti is part of the Landry’s family. So if you have a Landry’s card you can use it here.

The sweet and sour tofu was easily my favorite meal at Disney a couple years ago! I’m vegan and gluten free.
