Headless Horseman Rides Again Halloween Treat in Magic Kingdom

This week Walt Disney World decorated a bit to reflect the season. As things aren’t their normal right now (no Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, etc) they are trying to keep some sense of normalcy with the seasons. They have put up some pumpkin wreaths around Main Street USA and the castle. With this, they have also released Halloween treats around all of the parks.

There is one vegan option this year, which can be found at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom. The Headless Horseman Rides Again is a Strawberry DOLE Soft Serve in a Fanta Strawberry float. This float also comes with a souvenir Headless Horseman straw.

The strawberry soft serve isn’t new to Magic Kingdom, but they have been keeping it around for specialty seasonal treats. The soft serve is completely vegan, as all of the DOLE fruit flavors are (just always stay away from vanilla swirl).

They fill this thing all the way up, so be prepared to have a mess when you get this. The soft serve has a nice flavor, and it is not overly sweet. It’s definitely a lot of artificial strawberry flavor going on in this, but it is still a nice cool treat. I was pretty hesitant to try the Fanta, but it wasn’t as sweet (or syrupy) as I imagined it would be. The soft serve with the Fanta went well together.

I imagine this treat will be here until Halloween then switch over to a new fun option at this location. My preference is still the lime and lemon flavors, and I’m honestly surprised they didn’t do the Maleficent Cone at Storybook Treats like they have the last few years. But I am happy to see at least one option for us to enjoy.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
