When people think about dining at Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney‘s Wilderness Lodge they often think about dinner with their family style skillets, but did you know they do brunch? From open until 2:00pm they serve their brunch menu which has several vegan options to enjoy.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is located in the lobby of the resort and is known for its rambunctious serving staff and lively dining. If you ask for ketchup here, just know you‘ll end up with plenty of it. If you‘re here for brunch we have a variety of options ranging from traditional breakfast to more of a lunch item. So we‘ll start with the breakfast options.

On the shareable section of the menu you will find the Avocado Toast. This toast is basically the same as the one offered during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival but on a much larger scale. The focaccia slice is huge that this comes on! The creamy avocado is topped with radish, vegan feta, tomato, seeds, and pickled onions.

The focaccia was soft and it tasted very much like the one in EPCOT. I didn‘t love the avocado spread as it tasted more like that pre-made guacamole flavor and less like fresh mashed avocado, but it was very pretty and a huge slice. I liked the bites with the pickled onion the most.

For kids here you can order the allergy friendly Mickey Waffles, though here they were Minnie Waffles. The waffles were fluffy inside and came with your choice of two sides. Our son opted for fresh fruit and potatoes. He enjoyed the waffles, but the potatoes were his favorite part.

The Pepper Jack “Cheese“ Frittata has seen a bit of a change since I last had this. The frittata itself now is very small in diameter but was very tall. The frittata comes with vegan sausage and potatoes, as well as wheat toast.

The frittata wasn‘t as good as I remembered it being. The vegan egg had a bit of a gritty texture to it. I did enjoy the heat from the pepper jack cheese though, and it was melted so we appreciated that. Out of Disney frittatas I‘ve had, I would prefer the one at Hollywood & Vine over this one.

The sausage was just a spicy Beyond Sausage, I was hoping we‘d finally see a vegan breakfast patty here, but alas, still a brat. The potatoes were the same as the kids option and were well seasoned.
We were able to get an allergy friendly chocolate muffin. It had a nice chocolate flavor. It was definitely gluten free, which can be a turn off for some, but I enjoyed it in small bites, otherwise it became kind of gummy in my mouth.

The true star to this meal was the Seared Impossible Burger which comes with the pepper jack
“cheese“, a spicy aioli, caramelized onions, lettuce, and tomato on a vegan brioche bun. It also comes with sweet potato fries as your side. You can only order this for brunch, the burger is not offered on the dinner menu.

The burger was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. The heat from the cheese and the aioli was great and the cook on the onions were easy to bite through. I was also very excited about sweet potato fries as we don‘t often see those places. They were probably some of the best ones I‘ve had. Out of all out food here this day, the burger was our absolute favorite.

You can dine here whether you are staying here or not, you will just need to book a reservation and you‘re good to go. This is an easy one to start a Magic Kingdom day as you can take the boat over to the park after, or if you have an off day and feel like resort hopping, start with some brunch over at Wilderness Lodge!
