Earlier this year Finn and I went to breakfast at Steakhouse 71 where I was able to get an off menu vegan omelet. That off menu option has made it’s way onto the menu and replaced the Avocado Toast. there is still avocado toast on the menu but it is now no longer vegan as is. You can view the previous review here with the kids option.

Steakhouse 71 is a sit down restaurant located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This is a great restaurant to fuel for a day at Magic Kingdom. You will need an advanced dining reservation to dine here, but sometimes there are walk up options on the My Disney Experience app.

The new Veggie “Omelet” comes with spinach, tomato, and vegan cheese. It is also served with Impossible Sausage patties, vegan breakfast potatoes, and gluten free toast. The portion for this meal was huge and I loved that there was a variety of foods on the plate.

My omelet was cooked well and had plenty of melty cheese inside. I definitely liked this one better than the one I ate here previously with the mushrooms. However, they went very heavy on my tomatoes. The vegan egg was nice and fluffy and had a great texture throughout.

The Impossible Sausage was house-made and I’m 99% sure was just Impossible grounds with sausage-like seasonings. It did have a ton of flavor though, like a lot. Eating it with the vegan egg helped take some of the punch of the seasonings out of it making it a really nice flavor combination.

For some reason the normal breakfast potatoes here aren’t vegan, but they have plant-based ones upon request as a side or they come that way with this plate. I will never understand why kitchens make two of the same thing when they could just make it vegan for everyone, but I digress. The potatoes were cooked well and there were plenty to munch on.

The gluten free toast was my beloved Bloomfield Farms, so I really enjoyed it. I asked for some Earth Balance butter for my toast and ate it all up. It was soft and chewy and toasty.

I really enjoyed this new plate, better than the previous avocado toast. I will absolutely be back here to eat all of this again! They did also have vegan oatmeal and were able to do a side of the Impossible Sausage and vegan mickey waffles when we went.
