Macaroni & “Cheese” Bites from Geyser Point

For many years one of my favorite spots for a snack and an evening beverage has been Geyser Point at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This is a completely outdoor lounge with majority of the lounge covered under a roof. They offer big comfy couch style seating as well as normal tables. There are some seating options outside which face the water, these are great for catching the Electrical Water Pageant if you’re here late at night.

This location got a few updates to the menu this year and one of those is a new vegan Macaroni & “Cheese” Bites, which I super excited to try with some friends. These bites are vegan as is and come with tomatoes and peppers.

When you order this you get three little triangles of fried Mac and cheese. The breading on this was good, but our bites severely lacked the “cheezy” part noted on the menu.

The tomatoes and peppers just reminded me of a marinara sauce and with the breading it gave off the vibe of marinara sticks from my youth. The macaroni itself was cooked fine inside, but ours were super dry and had no flavor of cheese or creaminess of cheese.

I was pretty disappointed in these from a mac and cheese standpoint. The breading was delicious and crunchy but I was left wanting more with the inside of them. I did talk to several people after having this and was shown photos from others who were much, MUCH, cheesier than ours. I would be willing to try this again but if they skimp on the cheese again it will be dead to me. Mac and Cheeze is my comfort food so this was a huge let down for me.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
