This review reflects our experience from September 2016.
If you’ve been keeping an eye on the ever changing Disney Springs, you may have noticed that the new Town Center has opened. The Town Center is located in the center of Disney Springs, near where Pleasure Island used to be. The Disney Springs Town Center features tons of shopping and new food options. One of the new options is the quick fire pizza chain Blaze Pizza.
Blaze PizzaBlaze Pizza is a quick service option that features build your own pizzas, signature pizzas and salads. Blaze Pizza is a chain, so you may have one near you and it is exactly the same. When you enter the restaurant you join the line and wait to order.
We decided to build our own since you don’t get charged per topping! We told the woman at the counter we wanted to build our own vegan pizzas. She immediately asked if we wanted the people on the line to do a glove change. We both said yes. When you do a glove change then only one person will handle your pizza the whole time it moves down the line.
Vegan Cheese! There are three crust options for vegans; regular crust, gluten free and a high-rise dough. Two different sauces are available as well, regular tomato and a spicy tomato. Additionally there is vegan cheese here, again for no extra cost! The vegan cheese is Daiya Mozzarella Shreds. As we said before, there is no charge for the amount of toppings you get, so feel free to load up!
Some Topping OptionsOnce you’ve got all your toppings set you head to the cashier to pay. While we were walking down the line I noticed a vegan salad option as well. While paying, your pizza is taken over to the oven and your name is called when it’s cooked.
Vegan SaladWhen we went the first time on our last trip, because we did go twice, I noticed after sitting down that we were charged for gluten free pizzas, an additional $2 per pizza. I made sure to keep an eye on it on our second trip and noticed the cashier do it again. I told her we didn’t get gluten free and she noted that she thought the paper said GF, not GC. There is a piece of parchment paper that the pizza sits on while it works its way down the line with notes on it. GC, for glove change, GF for gluten free. Just a heads up!
After finding a spot to sit, we were called for our pizzas, probably about 4 minutes after paying. Corey and I both got our own pizzas, they’re about 10 inches.
Our PizzasClose UpThe pizzas were delicious. They were obviously still hot, the cheese was melted perfectly and their topping selection is pretty killer. No matter what kind of pizza you like, you can make it here.
Our Second TripBoth times we went the service was very quick. This is a great option in Disney Springs for vegans that will leave you with leftovers, if you decide to not share in the first place!
Would we go back? We obviously did! We have a Blaze Pizza where we live, so we already knew we liked it.
