It’s once again time for the short art focused festival in EPCOT. This years festival will run from January 12th until February 19th, 2024. They really went hard on the art focused aspect this year and appear to have severely cut down on the food offerings during this festival. This year there are only two vegan options available, and the menus in general seem to have been paired down in many locations.
During this festival you can find broadway performers in the evenings preforming songs from Disney on Broadway, art in the form of acrobatics, chalk artists, live artists working, loads of art stalls to buy Disney centered artwork, the paint by number mural, and plenty of fun photo ops. This festival is really enjoyable if you’re a fan of the arts and you will definitely need to budget to take home some really fun artwork!
In terms of food this year, we have one new option. Over at Gourmet Landscapes, which is located in the Canada Pavilion, you will find a Wild Mushroom Risotto with Truffle Shavings and Zinfandel Reduction. This option actually sounds really enjoyable and I look forward to trying it. It also seems like a great winter food option to enjoy.
The only other option is over at Tangierine Café: Flavors of the Medina in the Morocco Pavilion. This option is actually the same option we’ve had here for what will now be three festivals straight. Stone-Baked Moroccan Bread with Hummus, Chermoula and Zhoug Dips is making a return once again. This option was enjoyable during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, and again during the Festival of the Holidays, but if this is the same option for Flower & Garden I’m going to be upset.
We don’t usually have a lot of options for this festival as it is definitely more focused on the additional offerings, but it’s still disappointing to see only two options labeled plant-based on the menus. The previous years had some really delicious and creative options, and this year I feel like we were forgotten. The risotto sounds great, and I do look forward to trying that though. But I wish had something else to look forward to.
Fortunately, the festival only last a month, and less than 10 days after this one ends the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival comes back, so here’s hoping we can enjoy more food then.
