The other week my friend Gina (@GlutenFreeDisneyWorld) and I set out to eat and drink around World Showcase fully gluten free as well as vegan (obvi). While embarking on this quest, she told me she had a surprise for me in Germany, which I didn’t know what to expect.
To my (actual) surprise, she told me we can get the Beyond Sausage at Sommerfest; the quick service in the Germany pavilion. They can bring the vegan sausages in from the Biergarten Restaurant upon request. So we ordered two of them, and noted the gluten free for her as well. We were told it could take up to 20 minutes to get this option, which we were happy to do.
It did take 20 minutes to get, and both of ours came with the gluten free buns. We’re not sure if that means the normal bun they have has something making it non-vegan, or if they just found it easier to prepare ours the same. I wasn’t mad about it as it seems like they are also using those Bloomfield Farms buns, which are pretty good for gluten free.
The sausage was cooked well, not dry at all. I got mine with sauerkraut, which I had to put on it myself. The bun wasn’t too dry and overall the brat was very good. I will absolutely get this option again.
Gina noted that the chips we got were not the usual ones she’s gotten there. We think they were just out of the usual house-made paprika chips, as she has gotten them again since our trip together.
As I said above, this option is not on the menu. So this means there’s always a chance that you will be told that you can’t get this. You also will not be able to mobile order this since you have to special request it. Gina said she’s gotten it several times over the last few months (how she held this information from me for months I have no idea). But perhaps if we all keep asking for it, they’ll put it on the real menu!

Yes they do! They got them about a year ago now.
