Purple Reign from Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew

A few weeks ago Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew opened up and has been a go to for us now when we go to Disney Springs. They offer a single vegan donut option here, the Glazed Purple Ube, which can be both a donut or as donut holes.

I’m personally a sucker for the donut holes, but both are great. You can find our review of the donut here.

They recently added a vegan option to their combo donut and cold brews they have called the Purple Reign. This option features an Iced Chai, Purple Ube Coconut Milk, Coconut Syrup, and an Ube Syrup Swirl, which is then topped with the Purple Glazed Ube and a vegan buttercream!

First off, this drink weighed like 5 pounds. Also this drink is SWEET. We opted to get it without the Coconut Syrup in hopes of cutting the sweetness. This was the only modification you can really do to try that because the Purple Ube Syrup and Coconut Milk are already premixed. We still found the drink entirely too sweet.

The donut on top was still delicious, and the buttercream was great but there was a lot of it. We ended up scraping off most of the buttercream. The donut here isn’t too sweet, so it as a whole paired well with the drink, but if you’re a less sweet coffee/tea drinker you may want to avoid this.

I do hope they have plans to utilize that vegan buttercream with other donuts soon though, because it was very good.

But just because the drink wasn’t everything we hoped for, don’t let this stop you from trying their vegan donut or even one of their cold brews! They offer both soy and oat milk, so give it a try!

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
