Tamu Tamu Refreshments Dole Whip Pineapple Soft Serve

Sweet treats are a staple of a Disney vacation. But knowing where to find the vegan ones can be a bit more challenging in the world of non-vegan Mickey bars and sundaes. Luckily you found us, which means you know where to find the Vegan Options in the Parks! One of our favorite places to get a refreshing frozen treat is at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Tamu Tamu Refreshments

Tamu Tamu Refreshments is in the Africa section of this park. It can be found directly across from Tusker House Restaurant. This is a counter service place where you can find a few variations of a vegan option. They have a great seating area tucked behind where you order/pick up, and most of it is shaded.

The standard here is the Dole Whip Pineapple Cup This is the one we often go with here. This soft serve is the same as the Dole Whip which can be found at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, as well as other places in Walt Disney World now.

You have the option of getting this as just a soft serve cup or as a float. The float has the soft serve in a cup with pineapple juice. They also have the option to get it with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum or Plantation Dark Rum. You can even get it as a float with the pineapple juice AND rum. I like to do this when I don’t have to share my cup!

They don’t show the plant-based logo with some of these options, it is due to the alcohol. They don’t label anything that contains alcohol with the logo.

They do also have a specialty option right now called the Simba Sunset. This is a pineapple soft serve topped with a watermelon, strawberry, and coconut flavored syrup. I have not personally had this as it sounds entirely too sweet for me. If you’ve had it, leave a comment to let us know what you thought!

This is an easy spot to get a sweet treat. On those melty hot days, it is worth grabbing! I dream for the days of being able to enjoy my treat and enjoy live music here once again.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
