Impossible Market Burger from Centertown Market

If you have been on our Vegan Options in the Parks pages lately, I’m sure you’ve noticed that there has been a dramatic drop in the vegan options that used to be listed. This is due to a few things. One, not everywhere has reopened with the parks, and two, many menus have been reduced due to COVID. Unfortunately, with this decrease in the menus, it has meant that many of our beloved vegan options are now gone. One of the hardest hit locations was Centertown Market at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Centertown Market is located in Old Port Royale at this resort, which is centrally located.

Prior to closing, this was one of the best spots to find vegan food. Not only did they have an option for each meal, they had options. The options they had were unique and flavorful (looking at you Curried Chickpea Sandwich and “Cheesesteak”). Now the only on menu lunch and dinner option is the Impossible Market Burger.

Since this location is a quick service, you are encouraged to order via Mobile Order when here. They do have a register open to order in person if needed, this may come in handy if you don’t want the burger. I have talked with a few followers who said they were able to be accommodated with an Impossible Taco. If faux meat isn’t your thing, absolutely order in person to speak with a chef and get something else.

Food Pickup Location

Since it was my first time back since re-opening, I opted to do the simple way and just order the Impossible Market Burger on the app. The menu describes it to be topped with Lettuce and Tomato on a (vegan) Brioche Bun, served with a side of onion, pickles, and fries. The photo also shows it with cheese. I ordered my burger and was alerted that it was ready within a few short minutes.

Once I retrieved my food I stopped for some napkins and condiments and found a table outside to sit. They did have a few tables inside to dine at as well, but I am always partial to outside.

Once I opened my box of my lunch I laughed a little when I saw my little burger all wrapped up on a pile of toppings. I opened up the wrapper to just see an Impossible patty between the brioche bun. There was no cheese on it, which I wasn’t sure if is normal or not. The menu doesn’t mention it at all (which is my indicator that it’s not supposed to be there) but the photo showed it with cheese. I chose to assume this was correct and eat it as is. Had things been “normal” I probably would have asked someone if I was missing the cheese.

Luckily I had grabbed some condiments, because otherwise I was in for a dry burger. The Impossible burger itself was cooked well, but man this thing was boring. I had higher hopes since this resort was basically the vegan moderate resort spot. There are so many other great vegan burgers you can get around Disney World that either have vegan cheese, or some fancy sauce on it that really make them unique. This option to me felt like an afterthought after they removed all of our other vegan options.

Honestly the best part of this meal was my fries. They actually seemed fresh and were seasoned well.

I would not go out of my way to have this again. I would absolutely consider going back to see if I can get some tacos instead, but as for the Impossible Market Burger, I am okay with never eating in it’s current form again.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
