If we’re feeling some dessert while visiting Disney Springs, we usually head to Erin McKenna’s Bakery. However, this time we wanted to check out something new. Amorette’s Patisserie recently added a plant based option at their location, and we were eager to try it. Amorette’s is located at the end of the Town Center next to World of Disney.
Before Disney started their plant based initiative, there was no vegan dessert here. They have since added one, the Flavors of South Florida. The dessert is described as layered with strawberry pate de fruit, caramelized sesame seeds, and avocado key lime mousse.
Honestly, I did not like this dessert. Mine had a thick layer of strawberry pate de fruit which was similar to jello, sesame seeds that didn’t seem caramelized, very tart key lime avocado mousse (I wouldn’t consider this a mousse, the texture wasn’t light and fluffy, more like a creamy consistency), and lastly mango boba balls on top. It was garnished with a small chocolate piece.
This dessert is just weird to me. I grew up in South Florida and it does not remind me of home. All the flavors together were overly tart and very sweet. I wish they would’ve had a graham cracker layer instead of the sesame seeds. Usually I finish my desserts, but I only ate half of this.
I would not get this again nor would I recommend it. While I appreciate the effort of giving us an option, I hope Amorette’s Patisserie will change their plant based option soon to something more appealing.
