Updated option at Fairfax Fare

OPTION HAS BEEN REPLACED – Read about Noodle Bowl here

The new menus are rolling out this week with all of the new plant-based options! Yesterday was the roll out of Quick Service options and tomorrow we’ll see the new Table Service options! The website seemed a bit off when we were updating out Vegan Options in the Parks pages so we decided to give them time to sort it out and went to Hollywood Studios!

We were on a mission to go try the allegedly new plant-based version of the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich at Rosie’s All American Cafe. But after seeing the menu not have the icon next to it, we spoke with a coordinator only to find out it is still not plant-based. She did, however, tell us that they updated the chili bowl at Fairfax Fare so we decided to give that a try instead.

Previously Fairfax Fare had a hidden 7-Layer (but actually 5) vegan chili bowl you could get. It wasn’t on the physical menu but was on the app. They have now revamped it into the Southwest Bowl which lives on the menu!

The new version of the bowl comes with vegan rice (previously you had to swap for the vegan rice), vegan chili, corn salsa, pico de gallo, vegan cheddar shreds, vegan cilantro ranch, and crispy tortilla strips.

The bowl was a hefty portion and very filling. The flavors in it were great too. The ranch was the perfect amount, adding a nice creaminess that the old bowl was missing. The chili is bean and soy crumble based. This is a great option to share if you’re looking for something lighter, or a large portion if you’re very hungry. The bowl came out super quick too, which is always great when ordering vegan. I will absolutely be getting this bowl again.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!

  1. Sometimes they use vegan Mexican cheese instead apparently ! We got it today and that was on it. I’ll maybe email and ask but everyone I was with said they triple checked it with the staff and even tasted some and said it didn’t taste like dairy so I’m assuming they use different blends sometimes!:)

    1. Please double check. We had someone on Instagram tag us in theirs a few days after we went and the cheese was different, they went back to ask and it was dairy 😤😤😤
