We’ve been asked about vegan options at Rainforest Cafe many times over the years but had never personally ventured that way until recently. There are two Rainforest Cafe locations in Walt Disney World, one at Disney Springs (kind of hard to miss with the whole volcano situation) and one at Animal Kingdom. If you have no idea where it is at Animal Kingdom it’s because it’s slightly hidden. When you are heading into the park it is on your left before the entrance. There is also an entrance on the far right if you are walking out of the park to go there too. Recently my family and I got stuck in the rain (Florida summer, right?) at Animal Kingdom, so we decided to give it a try.
Right when we sat down we told our server we were vegan. He was super nice and told us he would get the chef right away. A few minutes later the chef came out. He was very friendly and told us he could make us the Anaconda Pasta without cheese or he could come up with something else. For the sake of time (we were the only vegans in the party and we had Fastpasses) I told him I’d just go ahead with the pasta. We ordered our toddler the kids pasta with marinara. We know they have a veggie burger on the menu, we’ve heard from readers they were told it contained egg and the chef didn’t suggest it, so I think that is still the case.
I wasn’t expecting much with a pasta but honestly I was surprised. This pasta was super flavorful. It was slightly spicy and the veggies were all cooked perfectly. The pasta was mixed with zucchini, red pepper, and was topped with fresh basil. The garlic bread that went along with it was also very good.
Our Mouseketeer was happy with her pasta. We asked the chef to steam corn for her side, it also came with orange slices.
I haven’t eaten at the Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs, but I imagine it would be the same as they have the same menu. Overall we had a great experience and would go back again. We were seated next to monkeys that would move around every so often. Our daughter loved that.
