Pumpkin Spice Beignets are back!

It might be August, and 95°, but it’s pumpkin season y’all! And that means that the Pumpkin Spice Beignets have made their return to Port Orleans French Quarter Resort!

Port Orleans French Quarter’s quick service location, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, has beignets that you can get vegan. The on menu Mickey shaped ones are not vegan, but if you speak to a chef you can get them vegan/gluten free. During the fall and winter they do some specialty seasonal flavors. The time has come for the Pumpkin Spice Beignet again!

These little guys are delicious. They are not an overwhelming pumpkin flavor, just enough in my opinion. The beignets themselves can be hit or miss, sometimes they are pretty dense, other times on the lighter side. They are cooked in a shared fryer but the chefs there have stated that they can do them in fresh oil but it would take much longer.

You have a few options with these guys, you can get the alone (they come in 3 or 6), or as a Beignet Sundae! They have vegan ice cream available (Tofutti), so the sundae is usually my pick. The warm beignets with the cold ice cream is just a great combo. You can also get a fruit sauce here that is vegan (it changes from strawberry to raspberry depending on season). You can still get the normal flavored beignets if you aren’t a pumpkin person. The 3 beignets count as a snack credit if you are on the Disney Dining Plan.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
